    Fast for hormone blood test?

I just ordered the female hormone panel from lab corp last night and in the instructions it mentions the patient should fast for 12 hrs prior blood test. Is this true, or are they considering that the patient may be testing lipids?

You don't have to fast IMO but some feel it gives a more accurate reading. Be consistent either way.

fasting is typically not required for hormone panels.
