Is it worth it??
So I'm considering using AAS's and wanted to hear some vets opinions.
I am trying to make a decision on whether I should use or not. I have good genetics and have seen good gains since I have began bodybuilding. I don't want to use AAS's as a short cut and have specific goals in mind. Im not sure if my goals are reachable naturally or not.
Currently I am 6' 1", 195lbs, with 10%bf. My goal is 225lbs with single digit bf. I have done a lot of research and some believe in cycling, other believe in a life long commitment through blasting and cruising. I had my bloodwork done, and everything is perfect. Didn't have hormonal ran just normal health bw.
I am torn between my goals, and messing up my health. Because currently my cholesterol is great and I am concerned about messing it up. I have good enough genetics that I may have a chance at making a decent pro career. The thing is, I do not want to be a MR. Olympia because I do not like the body type that has evolved in the sport. I like aesthetics, I like the body
types of the 70's-90's. I feel like today it's all about who's the biggest. Instead of who has the best symmetry and over all build. I just don't know what to do. I know it's my choice in the end.
Would like to hear some vets opinions on whether to use or not. I think this would help others like myself make the decision. And to realize that this stuff isn't a game and not a short cut for people just trying to look good at the beach.

It's definitely a decision you need to make wisely bro. Once you cycle you will like it, you will more likely than not keep cycling. Lots of people get to a point where aas are needed to make any gains, when they had much more room to gain naturally. It can almost tangle you up in a web once you start. I
don't look at aas as a cycle, in my eyes it's more of a commitment. Possibly a lifelong one. Cholesterol, tbc and other things can easily be managed. The risk of ruining your body's natural testosterone production is a big one, also the simple fact that once you start you are going to want to keep going. At least most do. That being said I love testosterone. I personally keep my cycles on the lighter side and I have avoided most of the "harsher" compounds. Slow and steady always wins the race.
For me I made the right decision, for someone else maybe not. Good luck to you bro. Just remember with rewards comes a dark side.

In order to reach your goal you need to add at least 30 pounds of muscle. Some people say that it is not possible to add more than 6 pounds of muscle on a basic cycle (test only). This means that you will need a few cycles to reach your goal. If you want reach your goal and also to keep it safe, you will need at least 5 test only cycles (the math: 6 pounds x 5 cycles = 30 pounds).

This is a great answer.
How old are you? That's a big factor in the decision. You didn't give your age (or I didn't see it). I would never tell anyone if they should or should not one way or the other. Thou need to do as much research as possible and make an educated decision. Don't forget to consider the legal aspect too. AAS are illegal in most developed countries. Although the risk of getting busted for personal use is small it is something to consider.

Btw youre no where near your generic potential. At your height you could gain another 40-50lbs naturally.

Mate, I would have to agree with the others. I waited until I was 50 before I went down this road. I am pleased that I waited because I improved each year in competition till 50. After that I was injured, I used steroids to recover. I am now bigger and stronger than ever before in my life.
By waiting I have been able to prolong my weights, increase my strength way beyond what I could have done alone but best of all I never cheated in a competition. I am now almost 58 and when I look at my co workers I feel young. I am bigger and stronger than all of them and it is nice when people say how can you do this at your age?
By waiting I have extended my lifelong training session! I enjoy it more than ever. No way anybody can say you will have to get your tendons and bones stronger. I have done that for 34 years now. All the best and whatever you do. Enjoy life.
Regards John

Thanks guys for your opinions. You can check my profile for my stats. I am 28 years old. If I can reach 225 and shredded naturally then there is no reason to cycle. My current plan was to try until 35. That gives me 7 more years of training.
If I haven't reached my goals by then, I will check into HRT. And maybe throw some cycles in there with it.

IMO, from a health perspective I'd say that natural is best. Unfortunately, as we age "natural" doesn't cut it. I mean my Test level was that of a 100 year old man. My body was breaking down way before its time. I went on TRT and subsequently started cycling. I don't do big dose cycles. My cycles are 300mg/wk Test my TRT is 100mg/wk Test. I believe I get great results because I trained naturally until I was in my late 40's and maximized my natural potential.
