Considering the top pros use AS for many years and not just once, working out naturally for a long period of time is not going to enable you to catch or surpass them simply because you plan on doing it for a long time. But, genetics also plays a role, so if you have a great bod due to your family genes, you will certainly be able to surpass people who do not have good genetics, have a crappy diet and poor exercise regime; even if they dabble in AS. But, if you are looking at the top pro's and wish to someday beat them without any help, I would have to say it would be impossible.

Steroids when used properly allow a user to go beyond their natural genetic limit. You need to be very educated in regards to different substances, how they will effect you in regards to sides and health risks as well as preventative measures to take and most importantly, Diet must be spot on as well training routine and being near your natural limit.

It depends on what "Top" you're looking for.

That doesn't say anything my friend. You have to understand that you're talking to 100 different personalities and preferences. To some, 175 lbs at 12 percent is perfect. Maybe post your stats and then your goal, so that folks can have an idea of what you're looking to accomplish.

A buddy of mine was at my house last year. He is about 5'10", weights about 240lbs and has around 45% body fat in my opinion. Yes, I meant 45% body fat and not 4-5% body fat. He was talking about his athletic ability and referred to his body type as a track athlete. I dont think this guy could walk once around a track without his heart exploding, but in his mind he is at the top. So yes, YOU definately might be able to make it to the top without the use of AS. Just dont enter a pro body building contest and expect others feel the same way. In a way I think he is lucky as he will never have to even work out to beleive he is awesome and definately at the top. Sorry, I just remembered that story and it made me laugh again and I wanted to share.

From what I've seen and read for ten years of lifting and mma any top athlete on gear is at a advantage over a top athlete not on gear.
