    Thyroid stimulation

I'm thinking that my thyroid isn't working as it should. I'm losing weight or looking how I should in a contest prep. Are there things I can do naturally to stimulate the thyroid?

I am taking selenium because I think my thyroid is not up to par (due to terrible metabolism and medications I am taking have a possible side effect of hypothyroidism). From my brief research is seems like selenium could naturally help. It's cheap- like $10 at any pharmacy. There's also T3 but I would exhaust other options before that and T3 might not give you what your looking for. Get some bloodwork done to see where your thyroid is at-there's a few things that should be tested besides the basic but I don't remember what they are- I'll look it up and get back to you but there's probably someone else around here more knowledgeable.

Yeah check out selenium, and research t3. I'd like to hear any other suggestions members have though.

Maybe a trip to the Dr. for a TSH that's a test for thyroid function.
    Educate before you medicate.

^^^Agreed. Do NOT start self medicating with T3 or any other triiodothyronine compound until you know if its a thyroid issue. Have blood work done by your HCP as Fit2 suggested.

I've had blood work done recently but my Thyroid wasn't shown on it. I'm calling tomorrow to get them to test the sample again
