Injection Question
Second pin.
A bit difficult to push the juice thru the syringe once in my glute.
Warmed my bottle slightly in hot water for a minute before.
So it took me about 1 1/2 mins to get it all in, but by the time I was at the end, a little blood came into the syringe as I was waiting about 15 seconds before pulling out.
It's not painful, but I can tell I just had a needle in my ass. Unlike the first pin that a nurse did for me.
Also, the injection site has a small pin bruise.
What did I do wrong? Really I'm just worried about the blood at the end of the injection. And the pin bruise.
I switched from a 20g to a 25g after I loaded the syringe. I also pulled back a little to check for blood before injecting. It was a little difficult, so I don't know if I really checked for a vein that good.
Thanks

25 g needle takes a lot of time to push through. You didn't do anything wrong. Sounds like a good pin to me

Some oils are thicker then others.

Once you pin yourself, and then aspirate , you should not see any blood though. Be careful when injecting the oil that you are not pulling the needle out any during the injection. You may be passing through a vein, then after aspirating, pulling the pin back a little and right back into the vein you went through. It is fine, but it is just something to consider the next time. Push it in all the way, aspirate, then inject. Dont worry, pretty soon it will be like second nature. Good luck and dont worry. We all have been through it.

I get blood also once In a while. I use to get oil leaking out after I pulled pin out but learned to leave pin for 30 seconds after injection seems to help with that (thank u who ever gave that advice on this site) I almost always get some slight bruising or dried blood under skin

I have never aspirated blood, but i have hit a nerve in my quad. My leg jumped like crazy and it freaked me out a little. Calmed down and pushed that shit deep in the muscle. No probs since.

Thanks everybody for the input! Sounds like it gets easier.

Update: Feels like Chuck Norris round house kicked me in the ass! I didn't get this pain with the first pin that a nurse did. I assume because I did it a little sloppy being it was hard to reach myself.
Will this pain get less each time I pin? Just virgin tissue?
I'll try a heat pad to help.

Quick tips from a nurse with self injections.
1. Practice giving an injection to a orange, it will help your technique (its how they teach nurses in school).
2. One use a blunt fill needed to fill up your juice. Each time you insert a needle into a bottle it dulls the needle (easy to find, sounds like you did this but get one but use a new sterilized one so you don't get an infection, but you did this correct but you went with a little to small of a needle IMO use a 21-23 g neele ).
3. Make sure you are not putting in more ml than the site can handle.
4. DON'T HESITATE, insert fast (90 seconds is WAY to long, should be more like 1 second) and one in pull back on the plunger slightly to make sure there is not blood (blood means you hit a vein and you dont want to inject there) but some people debate this until they inject into a vein and start coughing.
5. Push slower, its not a race, slow and steady wins. Juice is think so slamming it will cause more pain and the large the needle the easier it will inject, again IMO 21-23g is best (also if you push to fast you run a risk of "blowing out the plunger and wasting juice).
6. Remove fast and cover with alcohol pad (it takes a few seconds to let the skin close) oh and I do leave the needle in a few seconds to open a new alcohol pad).
I hope this helps

Thank you. All that helps.
It wasn't 90seconds to put the needle in. That was only a second. I was saying it took about 90 seconds to push 1ml of juice into the site. As I realize that was due to a 25g needle. And when the juice was all the way into the glute, I had a small amount of blood aspirated back into the needle(while waiting the 15 secs before removing the empty needle).

I don't think it takes me 90 seconds... Probably about half that, I use a 1.5 25g for gluts and I'm thinking about going to a 23g... I would assume the poke you feel on the inject with a 25g is basically the same that you would feel with a 23g which is very minimal...

I can feel no difference between 25ga and 23 ga but 23 is MUCH easier to inject

Another Update:
My glute is painful, hard to even sit on it. Have been using a heat pad, feels better while heat is on it but hurts the same when off heat. I don't think the pain is worst, I just can't tell if it feels better. I'm due for my next dose tomorrow. If I try the other glute and get the same PIP, I won't be able to sit down.
I have 25g and slinpins. Where else would be a better site? Quads? Delts?
I'm sure being able to reach easier will help me get a good pin without any site damage.
Thanks
Edit: there is no redness or soreness at the injection site. Definitely no infection setting in.Last edited by gold43; 02-27-2014 at 11:46 AM.

Quads delts lats pecs glutes tris and bis. Take your pick. Quads allow a steadier hand but you can hit nerves or veins.

sometimes it just hurts worse than others. If your hand is a little shaky (who's isn't when you are looking backward trying to stick a 1.5" harpoon in your own ass and inject something with the viscosity of honey?), it can add to PIP. also, make sure the angle is correct to get deep into the muscle. I injected too far on the outside of my quad, therefore too shallow in the muscle, and had some seriously vicious PIP recently. Hitting a nerve is no picnic either - i hate pinning quads, but whatcha gonna do.

I did massage after about 15 mins. When the nurse did the first one she pinched fat and then injected.
When I did it, I did not and it was difficult to aspirate and inject, so the needle moved a good bit.
I'm going to try the Z track method on my quad this time. Hopefully minimizing PIP as much as possible.Last edited by gold43; 02-27-2014 at 05:04 PM.

Sorry, last update:
I have a little fluid build up in the center of my back towards my glute. Very painful! Obviously I hit a vein and continued through it. I'm guessing some oil got in the vein and crystallized in the sensitive vein endings around the area that has the buildup. (Correct me if in wrong pls)
Question: How long will it take to go away? Do I need to worry about it?
3rd pin: Flawless, barely any blood, very little PIP.Last edited by gold43; 02-28-2014 at 11:05 PM.

Hi Mate,
I know doctors use 25 g needles, but most steroids are quite thick, even living here I prefer to use 23 g or 21 g. There is no real difference in the feeling as needle is going in, its just so much easier to press down the plunger. I also use 5 my cylinders and they require so much more pressure than 3 ml. I would rather inject one 6 or 7 mg shot than have two sites. Just too lazy!
I know that having done my own shots for about 6 years it became so much easier when my wife took over. I am old and shaky hands, My neck will not turn so I can see my Glutes! Not that I want to! She can with ease.
Good luck and no more problems!
John
