Need help with high blood pressure
I'm 29 years old 5'8" and 175 pounds, currently taking 650mgs of test blend a week, and 40mg of anavar a day. I feel great, look great but i went to the doctors a 3 days ago and my blood pressure with 152/101, yesterday 148/96, today 154/98. I drink tons of water, eat healthy, i take fish oil, cod oil, vitamin E,Glucosamine Chondroitin, multi vitamin everyday. The doctor wants to put me on BP medication now and i really don't want to. I've been cycling on and off for 4 years and i love it and never any noticeable side effects until this. I defiantly don't want to quit cycling but i don't want to be on BP medication..... I bought Hawthorn Berries and celery seed extract yesterday. but other then that i just don't know what to do. Before i went to the doctors i felt like a million bucks, I ran 3 miles that day and hit the gym for 1 and half hours, usually at the gym 1 to 2 hours a day but the doctor has me so worried about my BP i don't even feel the same now.

Just get on some meds or stop using steroids . Steroids aren't natural, so why would you expect to treat your unnatural hypertension naturally?

Well a lot of AAS do raise your BP, mine is always higher on cycle. As far as dealing with your doc, that is up to you on what you want to tell him. But I would wait until after PCT and see if it is still high and act accordingly.
There are a ton of home remedies for BP, I don't care much for them since most of them have no facts to back them up. I read a lot of guys think they get good results from beet root juice, maybe try that. As for me I would say monitor your diet, eat healthy, drink plenty of water, watch your sodium intake, and google other options.Last edited by RangerDanger830; 03-26-2014 at 01:19 PM.

Guess i didn't look at it that way, So is it pretty common for people to take BP Medication while cycling?. i always thought of myself as being really healthy so kinda a big shock to me that i need BP medication. I'm ending my cycle early, i'm 8 weeks in to a 12 week cycle. Hopefully it'll drop back down and keep a good eye on it, but I no intentions on quitting for good. Thanks for the help

Treat your high BP. HTN will kill you can cause a lot of damage. Have you checked your cholesterol lately? AAS can raise them as well. I don't have high cholesterol but I take a drug for it to get my LDL higher. You might want to add aspirin 81 mg or two a day. Studies have shown that it will lower your risk of heart disease by taking aspirin and its cheap as hell.

Try 1tbl spoon 3 x day of apple cider vinegar. It lowered mine on dbol . Try at least a week and recheck bp.
Add banannas as well for the potassium.Last edited by wicked442; 03-26-2014 at 07:42 PM.

Everyone is saying to take BP meds but what is the root cause of your high BP? If you know for sure anyway. Was it high before you started cycling? If it is only high because of the cycle themselves then I wouldn't take BP meds. Of course the doc will say that if they do not know you are on AAS because they will assume it is from more natural causes, not synthetic.

Take cialis...10mg a day keeps me in the normal ranges on cycle and in the ultra healthy ranges off cycle. Seriously, when I'm off cycle my doc reads my chart and tells me I will live forever lol.

You didn't say nothing about if you are taking an AI on cycle??? You need to be as this would help control a lot of the sides.

Wouldnt it be smart to try food/diet change before throwing another drug in the mix?

I don't know, i never checked it before but i started my PCT a little early and bought a BP monitor so i'm gonna try to drop it down to normal on my off cycle. I did tell the doctors i take a test boost and pre workout and of course he said stop that immediately. I bought some AI sport cycle support, herd good things about that stuff along with everything else. i'm kinda feel like the doctor had me over reacting but at least i know to keep an i eye it now. i'll keep everyone posted and then when it comes time to plan my next cycle might need some help mixing it up a bit

Mine will run high as well on cycle I have always taken Hydrochlorathazide on cycle it basically helps me to lower the amount of water retained. The DR explained to me when you retain water in the sack around the heart thus putting pressure on the heart making your blood pressure rise. As soon as my PCT is over I drop the Hydrochlorathazide and BP goes back to normal .

Just out of curiosity, have you a complete blood count (CBC) done recently?? Just a thought..not a huge correlation, but always worth checking/monitoring.

OP, do what Bonaparte and Almostgone each said.
Also look in to cutting down on the sodium in your diet. You can use NO Salt as a substitute (it tastes the same).

Just an Update, its been 6 days since i had 152/102 BP and quit taking, my test blend, anavar and pre workout, added celery seed, and hathorn berry to what i was already taking, plus real low salt and high vegetable diet, been checking my BP a couple times a day and slowing been dropping, i've checked it 4 times today and happy to say, been around 124/80 + or - a couple points each time. I'm going to start a PCT of Nova in a week so not sure how thats going to effect it but over all i'm cutting all pre work out and energy drinks out of my diet and gonna keep a good eye on it and next time I cycle gonna plan it a lot better. Thanks everyone for the help.

On another note, last night my friend was over and he hits the gym hard, no homo but looks really good and took his bp last night and he was 142/89, he's currently not cycling but took pre workout before the gym and was drinking a monster at my house.... I've been taking 2 scoops of pre work out a day for a long long time, kinda wondering if that is more of my problem then the actual cycle??

Wait, you didn't know that stimulant pre-workouts raise blood pressure? And you didn't think energy drinks did that too? You've got to be trolling us. By the way, just saying "no homo" doesn't convince us that you're not having a man-crush on your buddy.
Take your blood pressure while you're at rest. If you just came back from the gym or you've been running around or stressed out, you're not going to get an accurate reading.

I know that stuff does but didnt think ot was that big of a deal until the doctor told me I need to go on blood pressure medication immediately. Then I had the pharmacst check it the next day he told me the same thing. After that bought my own bp monitor been checking it a couple times a day. Yesterday was only a lil high, This morning was 124/79 went to the gym chilled a lil bit checked it again 122/78. Dont drink energy drinks that much dont drink coffee or soda, but I was taking pre work out everyday, over all I think im good the doctor made a really big deal about it, he even went as far as telling me if it got any higher id have to go to the ER....
