TRT use and upcoming drug tested competition
Hi guys. Need some advice on TRT and an athletic event I have coming up at the end of May (1.5 months away) where they do randomized drug testing. I've been on TRT for about 5 months now (200mg Test Cyp and 500 units of HCG per week - which I think is pretty standard). I'm 39 and my total test now is around 1160. When I started it was in the low 600s (which is in the normal range) but my free testosterone was very low. Hence why I was able to get on TRT. Anywho, I could have applied for a therapeutic use exemption (TUE) but I missed the window (as I didn't know they did drug testing). They say they follow the standard WADA (world anti doping agency) protocol for testing which allows a 4/1 T/E ratio (testosterone to epitestosterone). So if I understand T/E ratios correctly, my E should be what my T was before starting TRT correct - say around 650 or so? If that is the case, I would only be at a 2/1 ratio, right - and well within the legal limit? But would they be able to tell it is Test Cyp and not my normal test that is achieving the 1160 T result? Similarly how long would it take to get out of my system if I do decide to come off? The other issue is the HCG, which is also banned by the WADA. If I do decide to come of the Test Cyp, I'll want to bump up the HCG after to help get my normal test levels back, right? How long is HCG detectible in your system? Fundamentally I'd like some advice on if I need to come off the Test and or the HCG. I feel like I could stay on the test and still have my levels well within the legal limit, but I would probably need to stop the HCG since they do test for that and it's not naturally accruing (like the Test is). Any/all help and suggestions are certainly welcome. Let me know if I can provide any other info.
Thanks very much.

If you have a prescription you should be g2g I would assume

Ask them if they can make an exception and allow you to apply for a TUE after the windowed date. Otherwise, they're going to know. If I'm not mistaken, they can now test the testosterone in your body for a specific isotope of carbon that would only be there if it was synthetically made (not that they would as I imagine the test is pretty expensive).
But regardless of what you do, you're probably going to get caught. So you're better off being up and open about it now than trying to explain why you tested dirty later.

200 is standard? I need to up my dose :P I was low out of range lol.
Good luck on clearing the "legal beagle" BS. If they ask you to do a pee test ask them if it is so they can monitor if it is raining or not

So first you sort of gamed the system to get test, as 600 is a very acceptable level and free test more than likely was not all that bad as you chose not to share the value.
As you did not make the window for therapeutic evaluation prior you should call and see what your options are.
Another option is to drop your test down a bit and stop the HCG until the event and as it is random maybe you won't get tested. If you win more than likely you will be tested.
Really not healthy to run hot at the top if the scale your should reevaluate your program.

Are you concerned that you are getting an unfair advantage with those levels of T. How about the spirit of the competition

If I had 600 total test, I wouldn't have even considered TRT. I really had no choice 87ng/DL.

Yeah, it was my total free testosterone that they told me was the issue at 8.5 pg/mL when 8.7-25.1 is normal.
Thanks for the advice.

Well at this point, and to be safe, I'm probably just going to go off now and do some HCG PCT over the next month to bring my levels back to normal. But I'll def report back on what happens after the contest. Thanks all.

HCG does not equal pct. You need serms. HCG is actually suppressive of LH/FSH function.

if post op males can compete in bikini and figure, you should be able to compete while on trt.
