could someone look at my blood results
Just had some bloods back from blood test yesterday had a a renal profile done something out of range
Renal profile
Sodium 140 nmol/l 133-146
Potasssium 4.8 nmol/l 3.5-5.3
Urea 9.1 nmol/l 2.5-7.8
Creatinine 101 nmol/l 55-110
As you can see Urea is elevated should this be a concern?
I have digged out some previous results these are the urea levels
10 march 2014 Urea 6.3 nmol/l 2.5-7.8
9 january 2014 Urea 6.7 nmol/l 2.5-7.8
3 january 2009 Urea 9.0 nmol/l 2.5-7.8
Any views ?

Did you change your diet, add a lot of protein, start taking aspirin?

I had been injured so did not do much training since january so reduced my protein intake , i have been back training for the last couple of months and upped my protein a bit . I started asprin on 10 february 2014 due to high hematocrit levels but have been giving blood regulary for the last 2 months

27 february 2014 Urea 8.6 nmol/l (2.5-7.8)
20 november 2013 Urea 9.9 nmol/l (2.5-7.8)
so in summary past results
Today Urea 9.1 nmol/l (2.5-7.8)
10 march 2014 Urea 6.3 nmol/l (2.5-7.8)
27 february 2014 Urea 8.6 nmol/l (2.5-7.8)
9 january 2014 Urea 6.7 nmol/l (2.5-7.8)
20 november 2013 Urea 9.9 nmol/l (2.5-7.8)
3 january 2009 Urea 9.0 nmol/l (2.5-7.8)

Take care of your kidneys, kidneys are not like liver that regenerates it self. Once they gone, they gone.
Creatinine is a better kidney marker than urea, how much water do you drink?
Creatinine is not too high, although not on the optimum values, but most peeps that eat big amounts of protein (and/or done AAS) have this kind of values
EDIT: just noticed you mention an injury, ibuprofen also mess up kidneysLast edited by Mr.BB; 05-08-2014 at 05:05 PM.

I had my injury january i only took ibuprofen for a few days
I went to see my doctor today i asked him about the elevated urea levels he said its only slightly elevated and nothing to worry about he says its down to dehydration , i said i was well hydrated before the test but he went on to mention that it was because of the my recent blood giving to lower my hematocrit he said it was dehydration loss of blood plasma all the same its loss of fluids. He said nothing to worry about as my creatine and electrolyte levels were fine he said the urea levels can fluctuate with food eaten etc.
Im going to see my specialist on monday see if she says the same .
