What do you mean by over-train? Can you define that?

Maybe someone can define over-training. I don't really understand the term. Are you guys referencing potential for injury? If so, yes.

Of course you can over train. There are a lot of factors that go into deciding when someone is over training. For me..... Training each body part once a week works best. I vary the workload depending if I am on cycle or not and vary the type of weight training as to avoid injuries and avoid adaptation. I am 44 now and it has taken some trial and error to figure out what works best for me. Do some research and apply what you have read to your training to see if it works for you. There are lots of splits and ways to break up body parts, non if which are wrong.... Just different.

^^Thx buster. I had good results in the past by doing bench-press, shoulder-flys and bicep curls 5 times a week. I always do those 3 exercises independently from my program. Ive read on the internet that I should not do that because I have to let the muscle recover but if I already had good results before should I change my way to work out?

tommy, if you just got out of a relationship or things are just shitty right now, dont let the thought of "overtraining" stop you from pumping iron... if you feel good about hopping up and hitting the gym at 2am to clear the mind, DO IT... you can always find something to train... smaller groups (calves/forearms etc.. and there are millions of ab workouts to target different areas) if you are real sore somewhere, do something else... hitting the weights is great mental therapy buddy

You won't over train because your not training properly.
