I would split and do twice a day.

(Three times a day if it upsets your stomach.)

Half-life is 16 hours so twice a day is a nice fit.

But will it be effective at low doses around 40mg to be split?

40mg is not a low dose.
More medium sized.

Splitting it is perfectly fine. Some would say better since it provides more stable serum levels.

If you feel it then don't change it. You need to remember that some guys which are more experienced may require more AND there is no telling how accurately ugl stuff is dosed.
