Supplements to help with joints
What do you guys take to help relieve joint pains? I have a family history of bad knees, and I feel like I'm getting to this point. I'm in the middle of a squat program and my knees have been real sore. Do you guys take any supplements to help with joint issues? I've heard glutamine is pretty effective, but I have not tried it yet.
Thanks

How old are you? Have you had any major injuries to your knees?
I haven't heard of glutamine helping with joints. I have heard of Glucosamine and Chondroitin being used to fight joint inflammation, but it takes a while to start seeing relief, and you have to take it very consistently and throughout the day. You could also try Ibuprofen and/or Aleve.
My knees hurt sometimes while squatting if I don't warmup enough. I like to warmup for 5 minutes on the bike, then do some dynamic stretching in the sauna for another 5 minutes. After about 15-20 minutes I am warmed up.
I never feel old until I do squats.

I take osteo biflex it is a glucosamine sup and like said above it has to be taken constantly but I like it promotes joint health as well as lubrication

It was glucosamine that i was thinking of, not glutamine. I'm 26. I've raced motocross for 15+ years, which certainly does not help my cause. And I also run and mountain bike a lot as well. I've had no major knee issues, other than tweaking them here and there. Both my parents have already had them replaced.

also try not to bend your knees too much, just go 45% or as far as you can without pain. not sure if this has any truth to it but i been having bloating issues lately, so yesterday i drank funnel funnel tea, and i can swear lots of body pain from inflammation has subsided, and was able to do legs yesterday with little discomfort! too soon to credit fennel seeds tea for the pain relief but something to try, it won't hurt.

Thanks bass, I'll look into that as well. I actually have a real good squat and go deep. Ass to grass right? I'll try not going to far down and see if that changes anything as well.

Check out psgag (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan). Its in the profiles page. Its a vetrinary drug, that is supposed to work better than anything available at this time. You can get it as a generic called Ichon. Only one place I know of sell withput a script. If interested I could let you know the vetrinary supply place that sells it. I will be using it before the end of the year. I will probably order once I return from vacation. Its just an IM injection every 4 days for 28-56 days. The few reviews inhave seen where people used it said ther problems were cured.
Inhave used msm, osteo bi flex which has lots of things that supposedly help joints and soft tissue.
another product that is relatively new as an oral is HA (hyaraunic Acid) spelling maynbe wrong. Just google HA. It is an oral form of synovial fluid. This is the fluid used for injections in knees shourlers, and where bursa sacks are found. It used to be injection only, but supposedly they have made the structure small enough to be digested and work. These two look to.be the most promising supplements for soft tissue, joint, and even arthritis issues.
When I try the psgag I will log it to let everyone know the effects. My shoulders have been holding me back, once the strength goes up, my shoulder starts to act up. Im hoping the psgag takes care of it.

Condroiten/glucosamine/MSM are your natural best bets for your joints -
I've not ever heard of glutamine helping w/joints - it's a recovery supp!
Is there an underlying issue to all of this, OP?

I picked up some glucosamine and I'm going to get some MSM I can add in with my protein as well. No real underlying issues either, like I said before on don't think I inherited the best knees, but I'm using this to solve the small aches I have, and hopefully as a preventative, especially cause I am going to start a new cycle in a few weeks. Thanks for all the in out guys
