17-aa stands for alpha alkaloid
The 17 refers to the 17th carbon on a steroid molecule.
17-aa have both an OH group and a Methyl group there.
This protects the molecule from the liver destroying it.

1. This is the OH in the beta position
2. This is the Methyl (CH3) in the alpha position
17. This is the 17th carbon in a steroid molecule
note* This is methyl test you are looking at, Ill show plain enanthate and then plain testosterone next.

Test Enanthate
Notice the same 17th carbon and notice the enanthate ester on it.Last edited by Billy_Bathgate; 07-03-2003 at 10:28 PM.

And here is regular testosterone (no ester, suspesnion, or base if youd like to call it that)
Notice the OH group in the 17beta position.Last edited by Billy_Bathgate; 07-03-2003 at 10:29 PM.
