Newbie experiencing strange symptoms post-injection
Hi everyone,
As the title suggests, I'm very new to the world of steroids and hopefully I'm just overreacting but I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I'm on a cycle of test e 250mg/week. I'm nearing the end of my cycle and have experienced very few issues if any.
However, lately I've begun experiencing some unusual symptoms after injecting.
A week ago, immediately after pinning I experienced an intense coughing fit that lasted for around 5-10 minutes. It felt like the equivalent of someone who had almost drowned.
The next pin was fine, and then I again experienced the same coughing fit after yesterday's pin. Again the coughing fit was intense and lasted only 5-10 minutes (however, I do seem to have retained flu-like symptoms including frequent coughing).
Also, while trying to sleep I experienced significant discomfort in my right ankle. It feels like a twisted ankle or joint pain and I'm finding it difficult to walk around today.
I started on a brand of gear which felt weaker (just my speculation). The new gear seems a lot stronger (drawing into the syringe takes longer, I feel PIP after almost every injection, and my back and shoulders have significantly more pimples). I've also recently integrated Armidex into my routine based on suggestions from users on here. I'm not sure if its the change of gear or the Armidex which could be contributing to the symptoms I'm feeling.
I'll like end my cycle in the next few weeks and begin PCT, but I'm curious as to the cause of the symptoms I'm experiencing. Any ideas?
TLDR: Experiencing a coughing fit immediately after injecting and joint pain. Has anyone experienced similar?

Did you inject into a vein/nicked a vein and some gear got into the blood stream, the coughing happens if you inject wrong or if you're using tren same thing, tren cough but it does happen with test if you get it into the blood stream
Where are you pinning the test and are you rotating per week?
There are different reasons for the pip, I get bad pip sometimes from the same batch and others no pip at all it could be how much gear you're injecting, what site, went through a vein, the gear purity could have something to do with it as well it just depends

Welcome first.
Before injecting the test you should aspirate . If you see any blood in the syringe, pull it back and pin somewhere else.
The problem you experiencing is because the oil gets into blood fast and hits your lungs. You either nicked a vein or injected into it by mistake.
Aspirating helps you reduce the risk to very low levels.
For the cough? Don’t worry you’ll be fine. You only had a shitty experience for 10 mins that’s all.

250mg/wk is just a little higher than TRT dose. It shouldn't be giving you heavy sides. If you don't aspirate and push the gear directly into a vein your body is going to kick your ass. It happens to me sometimes too. I pin glutes and I never have that problem.
The joint and ankle pain? I have to defer to someone with that experience as I've never felt joint pain after a pin. I did experience flu like symptoms but that goes away in day or so.

Hate to say it but unless your normal endogenous T is abnormally low you kinda wasted a cycle. Should have at least done 4-500 per week. Like Scotch said, you're just a bit over high end TRT at that dose. Learn from it though. Do your pct, get appropriate blood work and for your next run lets make it worthwhile. Talk to us ahead of time. Doubt your really needed the Adex at that dose. If so it would be an extreme minimal amount. That said, adding a little prior to initiation of pct doesn't hurt as it will help your hpta.
Re the ankle pain, it's not related to the T. Injuries / pain just happen sometimes out of the blue.

your worried about joint pain -- but adding in Arimidex with such a low dose of Test is just going to amplify and possibly make any existing joint pain worse

Thank you to everyone for the replies.
Sorry, I wrote the original post in a rush on the way to work so I should clarify.
I'm not taking 250mg/week, but rather 500mg/week. I pin twice a week at 1ml so I must be taking 500 rather than 250. Not sure why I originally wrote 250.
Two days after injecting and the joint pain has gone. I have a residual cough and it feels like a weak chest infection rather than any kind of flu.
I inject in my quads and dont aspirate so I'm assuming the vein theory is correct.
Appreciate everyone's help.

I think that the high alcohol content is causing the cough, the flu and the post injection pain. Inject less oil in more muscle groups. This should help with pip and the flu. If i inject 2-4 cc's of test i get the flu and feel like crap for 4 days straight with unbearable pain (not fun and it's going to interfere with your training and eating). I've heard that propionate , acetate require more solvents and alcohol that's why it produces intense pip and flu. High concentration gear does the same.

I am a first timer as well , currently on 4th week , self injecting , never had any issues at all.
Try glutes or shoulders , very very easy and u cant miss.
Everytime aspirate it costs u nothing .
Lets hope we start making some real good gains hehe.
