    Accutane Use and Sides

So I got hit pretty bad by acne bear the end of my cycle and a couple months post cycle it's almost like it's getting worse. Shoulders are real bad, face is so so, back is so so as well. I've been reading about Accutane and have mixed feelings. I had moderate acne in my teens and still prior to my steroid use had some acne now and then on my face but pretty minor.

I am looking forward to continuing AAS usage but worried about this being a major side effect. I have a few options, either wait another month or two and see if it subsides and then continue with my next cycle plan this winter and see how the second go at it affects me or I've been looking into a lower end dose of Accutane now, or wait until my cycle and run it then although it can be hard on the liver so maybe not a great idea considering I plan on running orals.

I do like the sound of Accutane potentially solving acne permanently.. But the odd real serious side effect is a little unsettling. Does anyone else have experience with it.

Accutane should be a last result, break glass incase of emergency if it's drastically affecting your quality of life. It's harder on your body than drinking alcohol while on oral steroids while eating shit food.

Step one is to upgrade hygiene products. If you buy your shampoo from the same store you buy your toilet paper (aka Walmart or any major chain) then it's junk. Combine with dry brushing and you destroy acne.

Step two would be to use an acne body wash.

Step three is to go with a prescription cream or topical agent.

Step 4 is Doxycycline or similar

Step 1+2 could be combined and should be done regardless of your decision in my opinion.

Just to give some perspective, I had a similar breakout randomly out of the blue after being on HRT forever. I did just Step 1 and accomplished in 3 weeks what Accutane would've taken 3 months to do.

I've done step 1 and 2 for 3 months. I bought high end acne body scrub face wash and shampoo. No luck.

I mean it's not the end of the world but I just really like the idea of a permanent or years long solution and have read some good stuff on taking lower doses for longer periods to treat and cure moderate acne.

The side effect reports are out there on the web but I'm just weighing it against the same shit you read about AAS. You hear of horror stories but accept that responsible use will keep side effects manageable and still illicit the positive effects. I've heard from a few people personally who ran Accutane for AAS induced acne and never looked back which is what got me on the trail.

I mean if I can monitor my liver values, try 20 to 30mg dosage for 3 months and deal with some dry skin and lips to potentially never get acne again.. Even on future cycles I am in. But then again I guess this could be a one off and I won't have this issue again...

Accutane permanently removing acne is a bit of a misconception. You can still have breakouts after discontinuing use.

The relapse rate is between 10-60% depending on dosage, duration, genetics, etc.

Accutane reduces sebum in the sebaceous gland and in some people can remove the sebum production entirely. However, it doesn't stop new activity starting up on other parts of your skin. It also doesn't mean that when Accutane is discontinued sebum production won't rise again (hence the 10-60% relapse rate).

So for example, you run Accutane (3 months is basically zero by the way). Shoulder and back acne disappears. You hop on another cycle. One of four outcomes will occur

    (1) No acne
    (2) Acne somewhere else (such as chest)
    (3) Relapse of previous acne
    (4) Relapse of previous acne AND growth of new acne

3 out of 4 outcomes Accutane is worthless.

Thanks for the feedback Windex. If you don't mind me asking what products did you switch to that you found success with?

I did all the above as suggested by windex. Nothing worked. Nothing still works. ONLY accutane worked for me. Did it fix me perm? NO. I ran two cycles at 100mg. First cycle was 4 months then the last cycle was 6 months. I took an 8 month break in between due to reasons that will likely never occur to anyone else.

I was so SO SO DRY. DRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY - no earwax DRY. It was pretty amazing at the same time as annoying. I am super happy I ran it, and I will get back on it again some day after abusing these drugs. It's been over a year since I stopped my 2nd cycle of Accutane and my acne, even abusing AAS has never been better. Is it gone forever? No I still get bumps and pimples and it's annoying and discouraging, but they are minimal.

I had acne on my arms, WRISTS, all over my back (at least 100 pimples at a time). I am so thankful SOMETHING fixed me.

While doing accutane I ran tren and test both times and it healed. Sure I should of came off AAS, but I didn't. just my experience.

What Windex said, Accutane should be last resort. Really a harsh drug BUT I've seen it work miracles on untreatable acne.

Carina Organics - Tea Tree version of Shampoo / Bodywash (I buy 2in1 since shaved head).

Also local lady at farmers market makes body scrub soap from scratch that works pretty good.

Hand Soap - anything natural/organic is fine, well.ca just use organic or natural filter.

Dry Brush - anything is fine as long as it's coarse - it's going to feel like sandpaper. Mine was like $8 from The body shop.

I’m on accutane now- three months in and things are goin great this time. First time it really fucked me up hard. Joints were locking up with pain even after stopping for months down the road. Debilitating pain. Ran a deca cycle and as crazy as it sounds it stopped the pain and I haven’t had a problem since. This was years ago. I now believe it was from me not eating enough fats with it for proper absorption. Who knows, strange drug. It works by shrinking the sebaceous glands thereby taking out the catylist for acne forming. It also calms inflammation. The sebaceous glands start to make oil again but they are permanently shrank by a small percentage in most cases and this is why the acne doesn’t usually come back and if it does after another course of accutane you can pretty much kiss it goodbye for good in most cases

Something that has helped me and my clients with acne is scrubs/washes with Salicylic Acid. Always has treated mine personally better than anything.

I've had acne on pretty much every cycle I've done over the last decade or so , even when just on TRT still get some acne.. well one day I decided to run a 'no test' cycle/cruise . well guess what, my skin was the clearest its ever been in years. for me Test was the culprit. I've tried every scrub wash, cream, spray, dht blockers, etc.. in the book . dropping the test fixed the problem. I ran 3 other compounds with no test , EQ (as my anabolic to replace test), Tren at low dose (as my androgen to replace test) and low dose Dbol (as my estrogen and Dht production to replace test). worked like a charm . felt great too. sex drive was off the charts

theres absolutely no "Rule" that says you have to run Test while on cycle , especially if its the culprit to all your negative side effects. you just need to know how to properly stack compounds to make up for the job test does.
