best overall magazine
i am devoted to flex, but i would have to say that MD is making a comeback for alot of useful information, and you gotta love the pics. muscle and fitness has too many advertisements for muscletech products, but still good.......in a fitness and health sorta way.

im sorry - but IMO they are only good for reading on the toilet. the only thing worthwhile is the soft porn of the hot chickies! the articles suck and basically im supposed to pay so i can have a supp company tell me why their worthless crap is better than juice and have a Mr O wannabe who would never actually touch a supp they made, hafta smile and tell me how good it is so he can collect his tiny fee for his picture so he can afford that next GH kit. there used to be soe good articles but its all bs now it seems - all the training is same old crap repackaged - I get so much more knowledge off of boards like this one and others. i learned way more over the last 2 years or so then I did in the previous 10+ without them. just my $.02

The mags used to be good but I,m sick and tired of seeing fucking Muscletech everywhere in "special" 90 page pullouts.I still like M&F for the health and nutrution articles but if anybody from the mags read this board Give over about Muscletech will ya!!

Did you know Greg Kovac's has never taken gear, however after his last appearance he has double his intake of NitroTec........dangerous!
LMAO!!!!!
Yeh right guys Those damn articvles piss me off and there'e more and more of them each month!
Flex is better but even so Weider evented everything......Weiders Principles of Easting my ASSS!!!!

seriously, MD has some very good articles that can be helpful. and im not talkin about workout articles. They devote a large section of the magazine to sexual performance, and or sex related topics. : ) .. but just like all of ya'll are saying, they sometimes give bad info, and are boring. i just read an MD last week and was giving out what i would call bad advice, and it seems the writer of the article doesn't keep up with new steroid techniqes (the author was a past user).. the article was about what steroids are popular now, and how to use them, and what u should do when getting off. i kinda laughed when they said to use HCG post cylce, instead of mid cycle... and THEY MADE NO MENTION WHAT-SO-EVER ABOUT CLOMID.. i didn't understand that either... but hey, i guess they got their money out of me, bcuz i purchased the mag.

The overall best magazine is National Georaphic!! I actually very much agree with you guys. Todays mags are nothing more than glitzy, glossy re-hashings of the same old training principles. Anybody who has spent more than 2 years of serious lifting could write a program that would be just as effective as those "written - yeah right" by the sports top pros. Even more annoying is the over abundance of advertisements for "The most Powerful effective suupliments on the market...get steroid like results legally" ...pppffttt!!!! Back in the mid 90's Muscle Media 2000 was one kick ass mag with helpful articles from legitimate experts like Charles Poliquin and accurate drug info from guys like Dan Duchaine. I still go through some of my old back issues. They used to have a Star Profile at the end of every issue where they featured the true stars of bodybuilding...drugs. Each profile contained the drugs names, manufacturers, dosages, history, expected results, reported side effects, as well as a list of the most effective drugs to stack with it. Finally the had a chart at the end (5 star rating chart) rating the drug in the following catagories Mass, Size, Safety, Contest Prep.

Billy said it best........i can't stand to see another goddam advertisement for muscletech. i use thier products but can't stand thier advertising. so that eliminates musclemag. i love flex, it totally hardcore. and MD is making a comeback, they've finally gotten real about AS and the articles are real informative

I think the only good the mags do....Is the pictures! They should motivate us all to hit the gym!!!!
And oh yeah, to buy supplements from Muscletech, EAS, IronteK, Naturesbest, ISS, Formula One, Semtec, Worldwide, Scitek, LaBrada, Prolab, Cytodyne, Champion, Weider, American Body Building, Saturn, NTI, MRM, Musclelink, Biochem, Absolute, Interactive, Pharmalogic, Quest, Met-Rx, UltraLab, Universal, AST, Twinlabs, Optimum, Syntrax. Etc Etc Etc and friggin Etc.!!! If I left and supplement Companies out...My apologies in advance!!

actaully, whoever was saying that we read them to motivate us is exactly right, how many times do you find yourself thumbing through the pictures before reading the articles. i remember before i was juicing and working out like a hoss thats exactly what i did. and the training advice....you cant go wrong with that honestly, i never have felt that i overtrained on the advice they gave me, if anything i undertrained...i was always throwing in extra exercises, but they have awesome advice on training they just dont put enough of the real world stuff in like steroids , and any other growth inhibitors, or at least the illegal stuff. but what my point is, if we didnt have these magazines then we wouldnt have alot of info that they give us, in lamens terms too, and to me, i dont think we would have as many people in the sport today...honestly.

I think when just starting out they are helpful with training info(on some extent)... but after you know what you need....it's just a bunch of old pics and doubled over info.

MuscularDevelopment is by far one of the better magz out there. They have good articles and give ok AS info/advice. Even though MuscleTech is taking over their magazine also. Flex is sh** and Muslemag is crap also. I just like looking at the pics but as far as reading material i would go with "MuscularDevelopment"

Muscular Development
At least it addresses Juice. The other mags act like the Pros are natural bodybuilders...What a crock of CRAP!

agree on ads also
Hell, i've got a job right now that basically allows me time to read the mags every so often ,so sometimes I will purchase most of them. musclemag in my opinion would be a decent mag if they would QUIT using any more muscletech ads. It's gotten to the point where I take my flex, MD, and Musclemag and I will cut out all the pages of muscletech ads so they won't annoy me. Hell I did that to 5 of my magazines and you should have seen the thick ass pile of wasted paper I had in front of me! Muscular development is also starting to get heavy on their ads also. Hell, check out Ironman-they will run an article like"how to utilize your post workout recovery", and at the end of the article they will say to turn to page 250 to see what works-it will be an ad for a damn supplement. I've been noticing that alot in their mag as of late. Flex would be a decent mag if they would stop being in denial about gear usage. Combine Flex and muscular development and leave out the muscletech ads and you'll have a good one.

What about Testosterone Magazine? I've only seen one or two issues, but my friend read it and said it was pretty good. They seem to give good advice about steroids and such. Any info?

I subscribed to MD, best one out there IMO, love the juice articles, and thery actually tell the truth. The newest one has an uncensored interview with Flex Wheeler talking about juice.

I have to agree the old muscle media mags were the best , now md is gearing towards it, but as for the new mag testestorone i give it a couple more months and it will be gone faster than that magazine paul borreson wrote for what was it ... oh yeah Pump that mag was ok until they mislead you on every drug dosage they could and promised the world
But there serenity was good

Can't argue with that, especially since they voted Men’s Health as one of the top 5 magazines to be read by gay males. Shhhiiiiitttt! I thought I was the only one who thought that.
Don't forget Stuff either.
As for the other BB magazines, ya seen one ya seen them all. One is just a rehash of another ones info. Besides, they're all 3 months behind on their contest results anyway.

lol 47john
Yea I tried one of those damn workouts too, I think mine was more like shoulders and back, chest bi's and tri's, legs. It was fckn ridiculous. If I hear the term "shocking your muscles" applied to one more gayass workout like that in one more gayass mag like that, I'm gonna lose it. MM2K and the old supplement reviews, before EAS was huge and before Bill Phillips sold it, were worthwhile.

Muscular Development is the shit. The only hard core magazine worth reading. Man stuff on the magazine should be sold behind the counter. Where else can a magazine make a real stand on roids and actually tell u its good for you. MD rocksssssss!

I like flex and MD but I like the way flex is laid out better than MD, MD is too cartoony

i like flex too but i can just read it for a month and just throw it away. The whole magazine just recycles information. All they talk about is eatin 6 meals a day and eat alot and so on....like we dont know that already. While MD is like a encylopedia and you always gotta go back. Now they have Dave Pulombu and other Ragin Romona.haha i should work for MD.
Flex = pics and gossip

i made the mistake of subscribing to a different mag (one that wasn't listed on the poll)... soo many ads and useless info that all of us should know (or know MORE about) already... IMO save your money or spend it on a good ol "Guns & Ammo" or "4wheeloffroad"
