TO ALL CANADIANS: What to say to your doctor
Listen bros,
I was hit with a bad case of gyno at puberty. To all the Canadian bros on here, whats the best way to approach a doctor about this? I know that most of the time the medicare system up here will pick up the tab on the surgery, IF you can show its a legit health concern and not cosmetic surgery. I was going to tell him Im at risk for male breast cancer.... Think that would work? Any Canadians on here who have gone through this, tell me what worked for u!!!

Prepare for a long ass wait if you are going to get it paid for my MSA. If your doc will put in a reccomendation for you, there is the off chance that MSA (different in every province) will pick up the whole tab or a at least a portion of it, but it is not a sure thing by any means. Worst case scenario a general surgeon, read unqualified bum, might get the appointment. I would stick to a private deal with a licensed board certified plastic surgeon, but I place more vallue on getting exactly what I want done by whom I want doing it and the procedure taking place when I want it scheduled.

i'm going through the same thing right now but my doc told me that they have to remove the tissue to test it. i've had ultrasounds on it and it doesn't prove anything. i told him that it is sore eventhough it isn't and that it interferes with my workouts and sleep aswell as the embarassment. i read in here on a post that nolvadex or something can reduce gyno that already exists or from a previous cycle. not sure. hope a mod or vet will clarify that. if i can avoid the knife - eventhough it's free - i will. they send you to a specialist anyway. just have to wait about 6mnts from seeing doc to surgury usually.

my bro had it dun by a plastic surgon and msa picked up tha tab, but he was referred to her by his gp and one of my buddies had it done too his was paid for as well make sure u ask for an appointment with a specialist and ask for u doc to recommend a gud one not jus one of his buddys. tha reason im tellin u to go and jus ask for a specialist is that in my buddys case his gp said it isnt that bad but when he went to a specialist after buggin his gp for the tenth time his specialist said it was really really bad and he got in about 2.5 months later. Same type of thing happend to me but not with gyno i ruptured my ACL and i had to keep goin back to my gp for 2 month until finally he referred me to a surgon. anyways hope it goes well
