Dear reader,

I have been living with my fitbit for a couple of weeks now and I am starting to get a hang of it but still need to fix the food intake recording as it is does not have many of the foods I have here so I will create custom entry for everything to get it accurate. This way, even though I know what I am eating, the statistics will show correctly which seems very important to me.

On to last week's summary with my added footnotes:

Sleep is one interesting factor when trying to live the perfect body dream. Before Fitbit I would obviously know if I slept well or not but I would not know for how long I were awake after, let's say, my in-the-middle-of-the-night pee. Now I know this generally do not take more than about one minute and I go right back to sleep pretty much. How is this important you ask? Well, I had before always thought about perhaps slowing down drinking before bedtime to not have to get up, the data shows this do not seem to be a factor I need to care about that much.

Calories burned, a person who is cuttings most important number. The question is how real this number is? It is fairly hard to judge at this point to be honest because the Fitbit do not measure my heart rate. The day I have a device that measures my heart rate 24/7 this number should be pretty much spot on but for now I am taking this with a grain of salt.

This is just a fun stat in my mind. Who knew I was moving around that much considering my job. It should be said that living in Jena, Germany have taught me one thing, if you want to go from point A to B a car is the last thing on your mind. The topography of Jena is also very conducive to burning calories due to all it's hills. There are only two ways in Jena, up or down.

Another fun fact that really means nothing. But damnit, who knew aye? That many steps.

In conclusion I can safely say that the fitbit is having a major impact on my life. I keep looking at that app more than this website or Facebook and that is saying something. I believe that the more I use it and the better I get at documenting everything this will become invaluable.

Until next time!
