hockey speed workouts
hey does anyone know any good hockey speed workouts....maybe some runnning and lifting techniques a hockey player should do....

boring as hell but nothin better...for overall speed skate as hard as you can for 45 secs to a minute then rest 1.5 minutes and do again. do this at least 8-10 times as many times a week as you can. off ice do the exact same thing except sprinting. very hard to stay disiplined doing these alone because its hard to push yourself cause its so boring. for a good quick burst on ice skate as hard as you can for 10 seconds from a dead stop then jam the brakes on hard alternating sides. rest 20-30 seconds and repeat. do this 12-15 times whenever you are on the ice. off ice do the same thing running up a slight hill or steps. these are very basic and old shcool but absolutley nothing better. oh and on the ice i'm sure your doing something similar to these anyway, but when you do these on top of your practice, thats when you start to rise above the rest.
