college ball player wondering if this is possible

is it possible to be a 290lb D-Takle and still be in amazing shape... im 270 doing a bulk cycle but want to not get fatigue when im playing, fatigue makes you weak and soft.. could it be how you train?

Sure. Its all in the diet and training

What is your Bodyfat % at that weight? that is the question and issue

If you are 290 and under 15 %, then you should be doing fine
If however you are 290 and 25-30% fat, then you need to diet better

Sure look at many of the D-tackles in the league. Julius Peppers is 295+, very lean. Andre Carter from the Redskins is very lean and 290+. Most of those guys end up being D-ends or 5 techniques though, not true d-tackles (3 techniques and noseguards). Broderick Bunkley from the Eagles is 310-320 and probably around 15-18%. You've got to understand that most d-tackles are rotated in the league, very few are every down players and the league is looking for space eaters at those positions for the most part. Unless you want to play the d-end (5 technique) position in a 3-4 defense.

I played linebacker (in the mid to late 90's) at between 265-275lbs at around 10%bf. I found that my energy levels sucked though, and I was constantly cramping and pulling shit. When I decided to go up in weight and play d-end/d-tackle at the semipro level, I played at 295lb and about 15-18% and I felt great!

dang thats a good read bgmac. we need to talk cause i have a real god chance at going pro... my coach wants me be too 290lbs at D-Tackle but at the next level i want to be a end-3 tech.. so maybe thats a good weight. last season i was kinda chubby and always out of breath.. i would like to greatly increase my stamia to go full tilt wihout getting tired.. also would youthink it would be cool to run dbol during camp to maintain weight... and brodrick is a monster dog.. u know he's done some cycle.. i look alot like john randel though.. in a 10 yard sprint i could beat db's and recivers..soo i dont know

My bad about Andre Carter, I don't know what I was thinking, being a 'Skins fan and everything. Anyway, I can't really give much advice as to what supps to take during the season. I have no experience with cycling while playing pro or college ball. Semi pro level doesn't test, though. From what I understand though, dbol stays in your system for an exteneded period of time and you'll get popped if you get a random.
