Thread: fat free cottage cheese and sugar on prep

    Cant find a solid answer on this question. I have heard people cut out all fat free cottage cheese 8wks out. Also some say its a good protein source on prep. Also what is the limit to sugar on prep. No more then 30gm a day, 50gm, or 0gm?

    People tend to cut sugars bc they think they'll make you fat but also bc they can bloat you. I've had a few friends eat simple sugars all the way up until about 2wks out and still got in sub 8%.

    Dairy tends to cause bloat also which is why many cut it out. Again no need to really do that until you get closer to comp date.

    I tend to agree, i keep fat free cheese in until about 2 weeks out...would do same with cottage cheese...as for simple sugars i just dont use them, but for ex. i will eat 2 rive cakes post training prior to my oatmeal at time...and thats pretty much same as white sugar by GI qualification...so for me that would come down to timing i think a person can have just about anything in moderation if its timed properly, i remember reading about one pro using skittles post training, ohh now thats a prep i can live with :-)

    Oh OK I see what u guys are saying. The only reason I ask is because I'm addicted to this recipe and I eat it little 3 times a day (3am, 8am, post workout 3-4pm)

    protein muffin:
    30 tbsp of egg white
    2 tbsp of coconut flour
    1/4 pumpkin puree (not mix)
    1.2 tbsp semi chocolate chips
    1 scoop whey protein

    Dripping topping:
    1 cup FF cottage cheese
    2oz Greek cream cheese (1/2 less fat of normal/ x2 protein)
    1/4 packet of jello sugar free cheesecake mix

    The macros are like this
    Calories: 720
    Carbs:52
    Protein: 92
    Fats:7

    So what I am thinking about doing is continue using the FF Cottage cheese or switch it over to FF Greek yogurt. Thoughts? Also taking out the semi chocolate chip except post work meal. Thoughts. Sorry for such a dumb question guys. I really appreciate ur guys help and opinions.

    Do you have a pic of you 8 weeks out...depending on your condition the advice might change, i am guessing you are on target so should be ok but that would allow us to make more educated recommendation...

    yeah i would say you are ok to eat your cottage cheese bro...enjoy it maybe cut it out 3-4 weeks out, you are looking good bro. keep pushing and get it done...

    Thanks brother means a lot. One more question. What is ur opinion on refeed days? Every 7th day. Low carbs and calories for 6 days then on the 7th day a refeed day at my TDEE with normal carbs?
