I want to preface this thread with a disclaimer... I am not trying to turn my boy into a mini arnold.. not anything of the sort. I do not advocate children lifting weights as it can fuse their growth plates and potentially injure them.

This has to do with my 6 year old son who has just come to live with me half time. When he is at his mother's house, his typical food intake is a bowl of cereal in morning.. a snack bar and juice for lunch, and KD for dinner. He is fairly active and his body is about average height but quite skinny.

My worry is that he is going through growth spurts without the proper nutrition to grow to his potential. I would like to give him the foods he needs to grow, but it is very difficult to find good diet advice for children. I also don't want to go over the top with his diet if that makes sense. My ex thinks I am crazy for even thinking about diet.. and for trying to plan anything for myself or the kids...

Any advice from some of you who know a lot about diet?
Thanks in advance.
Jack
