Measuring oats w/measuring cup v. scale?
For all my meals I use a scale to weigh them out except for my oats meal.
However, today I was looking at the nutritonal facts and noticed the 1/2cup serving was at 40g. This got me thinking because 4oz. is roughly 110g (113g).
Also, when I weigh my foods out - I go by the ounces, so 1/2 cup = 4oz.
Now, I confused myself a great deal - how should I measure out my oats??
Go by 40g on the scale which is 1.5oz. or go by the measuring cup measure of 1/2cup which comes out to about 2.5oz? Or?

1/2 cup dry measure is not equal to 4oz. When measuring oats, either weigh them as you've been doing but go by grams - 1 serving (40g) should equate to 1/2 cup dry measure.
