I need some help on Breakfast.

I work night shift get off at 1 am. Go home go to bed. Usually try to get up around 9. Be at the gym by 945 10. I don't have a lot of time to make breakfast. I have been eating a peace of toast with sugar free jam and half banana with a coupe of coffee. Is that OK. Sometimes I have great energy sometimes not/about half way through lose focus. Just wondering what ball think about this. Where I don't have a lot of time. Heck sometimes I go without eating at all. Thanks everyone.

    Hey Bodacious,

It's OK so long as it helps your day get started, and you can follow up with enough meals to meet your goal for the day. You do not have to eat a massive breakfast. If your workout is suffering, then try and prepare a decent meal before you go to bed, then you can just heat it in the morning.

Thanks. I usually eat a coupe of oats with my protien shake poured in them with sugar free jam after my workout. Is that OK to eat oat after workout with protein poured in them?

If it works for you, then do it.

I'm not big on shakes. Solid food is best IMO.

I try to avoid full meals too close to gym time, just preference for me. But as most said, just make sure you're hitting calorie needs by day's end.

I don't go crazy with shakes, but they fill in the gaps nicely for me.

I've been training fasted (I also workout in the am, a few hours earlier than you though!) for a while now and have done so in the past without issue.

Having said that, I just don't see the point in this meal. If you're going to eat, why not have a nutritious meal? When I was eating preworkout, my meal took me all of 5 mins to prep and eat. I prepared most of it the night before and only had to run a blender in the morning. I blend a pretty hearty shake:

    Dry ingredients:
    1/2 cup oats
    1/2 scoop casein
    1/2 scoop whey
    1 tbsp raw cacao powder
    1 tbsp instant coffee
    2 packets stevia

    Wet Ingredients
3/4 cup liquid egg whites (cartoned)
    3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup 1% milkfat, no salt added cottage cheese
    1/2 banana
    1 tbsp natty PB
    3/4 cup crushed ice

Blend and enjoy!! Frothy, cold, and wholesome.

My breakfast is 300ml skim or fat free milk, 2 scoops of protein and 4 raw eggs shaken up. Keeps me full for a couple hours and easy to make
