Tuna in brine or sunflower oil?
I’ve been eating tuna in brine for years. Accidentally I bought some tuna in sunflower oil the other day but then wondered if perhaps this would be a better choice.
Although the fat content in the sunflower variety is higher – 9g per 100g as opposed to 0.5g per 100g, the saturated fat difference is only marginal – 0.9g per 100g to 0.2g per 100g. It would appear that tuna in sunflower oil has a better EFA content which would seem beneficial especially on a low carb diet. Have I got this right and should I perhaps switch from brine to sunflower oil (after all these years!)? I’ve not actually tried it so perhaps taste and or texture might dissuade me from switching but I’d like to know what others think before I decide.

I don't like the taste of tuna in oil. But I suppose if you mix it with something it would be ok.
