    once a month injection??

Went from the patch to the once a month 100mg cyp injection.. my question is how does injecting 100mg of cyp help? wouldnt that bring you up for a week or so then drop you down again? Dont understand how it can be beneficial!!! Gotta be better than that patch i guess.

and i thought i had the stupid doctor... mine gave shitty gel then when that didnt work he wants to give me a once a month 400 cyc shot... my advice is to go to a new doctor...or endocrinologist... thats a fing rollercoaster ride. do the math it takes 7-10 dats to get into your system then how long does it last??? weekly is the only way i could stay constant

that is lame!!! you figure the average male produces 50-75mg a week so that alone brings it to a min. of 200mg a month. of course you would want the upper range at 300mg a month. you should be able to find a doc that will give you closer to 600-800mg a month for HRT. keep shopping around or find a good anti~aging clinic. doctors really make me wonder sometimes??? remember to hit them up with libido issues!!! good luck bro... that sux.

gravedigger....was this your GP? has he ordered you to see an endocrinologist? please don't tell me that this is supposed to be your HRT? your general practioner will get you started (mine started me at 100 per month) but will generally hand it off to a specialist....who will order further tests to see if your pituitary and the hypothalamus are functioning properly....if your boys are not producing enough testosterone your pituitary will send specific orders for the twins to get off their duff and get busy....if it is doing its job the hypothalamus isn't....you will need lots of data from specific bloodwork and maybe and MRI to make sure there is no tumors.....then you will get additonal blood work to see the range of test in your body.....a trough test will be taken on the day you would be getting another scheduled shot......but if you are not on your way to a specialist....then you need to be!

    gravedigger...

    borrowed this from meathead320's thread:
Urologist on the other hand, for the most part, prefer their patients to be in the upper 1/3rd of the range, for a 20 year old, because those high-normal levels are the least frequently associated with ED.

his reference is to test levels preferred by specials...endo v uro..............If you get a choice of specialists it seems the urologist is the guy to see.

this doc is with the veterans so it doesnt cost me anything, i had an mri on brain to look for tumors and found none, did a scan on the boys and said they were fine. going to do this once a month shot till june and then do blood work again. he hasnt said anything about an endo yet...

good news on the lack of tumors.....and i am glad the insurance is covered....have read in several threads that the VA does not look twice at HRT....but if the boys are doing their job and their is no pituitary problem i can't see why he has not passed you on to someone further up the specialist chain....as a vet you deserve the best you can get....just seems that waiting for five months is too much to ask....it was the reason i took matters into my own hands. My GP did the one shot per month while he was trying to get me scheduled with endo....then it went to every other week and then every week....keep us posted on the developments....

I am a disabled Vet and trust me stay away from VA doctors. They don't know shit and are really bad doctors most of the time. They are more worried you mite file a claim than treating you. Good Luck

yeah something tells me he isnt going to switch the shots to weekly, even mentioned sending me to mental health if this didnt work. so depending on what happens in june i might look for an endo then... i can tell this once a month bs isnt worth anything except for the week of the injection.

Do you do the injection or get it at the office visit? When are your blood tests? If it were me and I did the inject, I would divide the shot up every 4 days about 50 ml each time. this gives you an even supply without any let downs. You could even do this sub q. trouble is you will have to find more test or talk him into giving you more. good luck

at the va, everytime you go for an appointment they draw blood. so for a year a had blood work every three to four months. right now i'm getting my shots at the docs office since they are once a month. dont do more blood work until june, see what he says then. would love to just go back to anti aging clinic in florida but heard they charge in upfront 500 dollars to even get started and of course they dont file insurance. Wish i had the bucks for gh too...

Amazing huh? My doctor is the same way, he reads something in his computer and then comes back with an answer. I propose a TRT question and he is always stupmed. It frustrating, welcome to my world. I know you know what you need and I know what I need to and 200mg twice a month is not going to cut it. Good luck.............

grvdigger....twice per month is twice as close to normal as you were....i started a thread called Supplement Testosterone just because of the way you are being treated....same same for most of us....Dr's target seems to be on the low side of normal...hope the anti-aging clinic gets you closer to where you need to be...might mention to your VA Dr that the travel to and from twice per is costly at $4 gallon....maybe you end up sticking yourself or getting stuck

Hey bro, Im in Oklahoma. I have an appt. with a Urologist next week and im worried about having these issues as well. My first Dr. wouldnt even test my hormone levels after I told her I couldnt get an erection. She told my I was just depressed and sent me home with a script for an anti-depressent. I finally got a second dr. to test for low hormone levels and it came back at 240. I dont see how some drs. can prescribe such crazy dosages and dose times and some are right on the money. Good luck with your dr. If I have a good experience next week Ill let you know who Im going to.
