    Going with an AA clinic

So i'm sending my blood work and physical to an AA clinic.
    My stats are,38 yr old,, 5'11'' ,198 ibs ,17%bf
My testosterone came back from the urologist at 271 total.
I have gone through hoops trying to get help, but doctors claim i am in the normal range.
I am not( well to do) ,by any means ,so paying for treatment from an aa clinic will become a burden in the long run.
To put it into perspective i was quoted almost a weeks pay, for a basic 10 week trt program.Must trt be run continuasly?
    Can anyone relate?
Is it worth starting something that i can't afford in the first place?
Do i have to feel tired all the time?,is trt and aa clinics only for the rich?

I think you need to find a regular doc that will help you. In another thread I read someone's description of their approach to finding a doc that would help.

First, he did a Google search for compounding pharmacies in his state. Those with websites discussing TRT near his local were identified. Then he discussed TRT with the pharmacy managers and asked them if they had three docs they could recommend that they tend to see as active in prescribing T for TRT. He had several names from each. One doc was identified on each list, so he set an appointment with that doc & he was off to the races.

I tried the start off that approach for my area and have some prospective names. But, my cart is a bit in front of my horse... I have my appointment with my doc for my physical & blood work next week.

Whitecollar10 is right on! Google Maps makes it even easier with the right combo of key words. Most Pharmacist's will help you find the right Doc.

We don't know what 271 means without ranges and what are your Free T ranges and what are your Thyroid ranges???

    Many things are missing here.

pretty much "in range" on all ranges that i've seen....

op...best bet is to continue your doctor search while your running your first set of meds from the clinic..i'm in the same boat...i'd be with a clinic if i could afford it...while i dont think its for the rich only the cost is definately significant...
maybe like the fellas said..google and a few calls will pay off...u being in such a big city you'd think thered be a few docs without there heads in their rectums

OP I sent you a PM. Yes TRT is for life. I know it's tough, but you cannot put a dollar figure on this treatment if it's needed. It will make a world of difference in your quality-of-life. Good luck!

You're Total T is in that bottom 20% range (where I was) and I think it's worse in some cases then being "clinically" low. You're Free T, however, is your best marker and 1.2 is "clinically" low and why your MD won't help you is nothing short of malpractice in my opinion.

    Do you have symptoms?

FSH is fine and not of concern in my opinion.

If you were seeing my Doc here in SoFla he'd have you on a protocol right quick. Let me know if you need a referral and I can PM you as he works with out of state patients.

i didn't ask him for help yet im just getting feedback from the forum. his response to me over the phone when giving me results were that my free test was good, clearly not the case. so when i get the results faxed over i see it's low.
do you think that its too soon after pct to get a solid reading or is this where it will stay

OP, the clinics can get a bit aggressive with their sales agenda. Local doc will be more level headed. Test and HCG aren't horribly expensive and those are the only two things my doc has me on.

It seems like like your alive you're pretty much in the "normal" zone. If you want to feel the benefits of the endogenous test you should be in the top 1/3 of the range.

You also have to becareful with these AA clinics. I used one for deca , but if all I did was test it would only run me a couple hundred a year. Fortunately, I get my test from my GP. My buddy lives in another state and couldn't find a willing doc so i told him to try my AA clinic. Man, they loaded him up with test, deca, HCG and an AI. They even had him on a cycle dosage of 400MG test-c a week. You have to be very specific with these guys and know that you probably are not dealing with a doctor, but a guy on commission most of the time.

I don't want to go friggin nuts stacking multiple compounds. From reading up on the board i summised that i would need 150 to 200 mg test cyp and proper pct.
I have modest goals ,i just cant see spending a couple of grand a year to achive that.

Got a bad cold this past week ,so the blood work had to wait.

The thing about most of these so called AA clinics (they really should be called juice outlets) is that the majority of their clientel are ex cyclers who have damaged their HPTA and hence are on TRT and really like all the other drugs and AI's etc. What they do is to charge a low fee to come through the door but charge a large fee for the juice to recoup their costs. Now if you have the will power to resist the used car salesman lets call him "Chip" and make your own decision on dosage and stick with a low dose of Cyp say 100mg a wk then after 3 months get another blood test to see where you stand then even with the inflated prices on the test you can keep your treatment pretty cheap as you may only need 3 bottles a year, hell if you end up needing 200wk thats only 6 a year. You can start off getting your HCG at the clinic till you find a good online source sending from India then you will be able to reduce that cost by 75%.

Of course the other option is to order some powder and usp chems and make your own and do home TRT but this is not for everyone. However I can tell you my cost for a month of Cyp and HCG is about as much as dinner for two at McDonalds and I ain't talking no SuperSize either LOL.

I also went with the AA clinic, at first. I used them for about a year. I was at the bottom of the normal also so a normal doc would not help. After going to the AA clinic for a year and multiple blood test showing my levels are now middle normal I went to a Endo and all he did was one more test to make sure I was still in range and gave me a prescription for the next 6 months.

Not all AA clinics make their money off of the prescriptions. I go to a national chain and I get my Test prescription filled at the store with the red ball. I get my AI from Ar-R (much cheaper) and my hCG from a local compounding pharmacy.

Is your hcg prescribed also? My AA clinic did not make anything from the prescription, only the appointments and the HGH they sold. $$$

Does the $600 include labs plus consultation? If so, the $600 is not a bad deal at all. If the $600 is just for the script meds, then you are getting ripped off bigtime. I am on T, HCG , and an AI. My scripts through pharmacy runs about $150 for 10 weeks.

I'm in Minnesota. One local "aging specialist doc" here charges $3,000 for initial workup! This is for doc consultation and lab work only. Frigging highway robbery.

    So i finally got my script from the clinic.Stats 5,11'' 202ibs 17 %bf ,38 yrs old
    1cc test C /200mg/week ,30 1.2 mg Anastrozole tabs
This will be enough for 10 weeks.
My test level is 271,total test was 6.7.
Is 200 mg test C ,to high to start off with? I am thinking of starting out on 100mg/week for starters. Will the AI be neccessary?
I Dont trust the AA clinic 100% to know what is right for me.They do make money based on the size of the order.

My total T was 400 and 80 mg/wk raised me to 720. My free and bioavailable T were at the bottom of the range, and the dose put them just about the middle of the range. Everyone's results vary, but you can use my data as an input. My best guess would be your total T with this script, including the AI, will be 900+.

30 1.2 mg Anastrzole for 10 weeks means you will take 3.6 mg Anastrozole a week? That is very high in my opinion, but it may work for you. Familiarize yourself with low E symptoms and watch for them. Low E really sucks. High E is not as harsh as low E if you don't develop gyno symptoms.

    good advice above...

and i like your patience....yes...i wouldnt take 1 pill of that AI until you NEED it! esp if youre going to dose at 100mg a week..

starting low dose and as few meds as possible is the best way to make sense of all you'll be introducing to your body..

i think the 100mg could bump you from 271 up to 600/700 but any elevation from there should make you take notice...

also from your op making the script last is a good idea as well...like GNBM stated, 80mg brings his T up to the 700's....i like 100mg to start because after the ester you're getting approx 70mg of test...i wouldnt start with less than 100 personally

    best of luck

makes sure you get a pill cutter for those AI pills....it sucks you dont have a baseline e2 ...if your not going to be able to test that you'll want to pay close attention to your symptoms...i wouldnt worry at 100mg but still just try to take notice...not like bass but you've been readin here you know what to look for

I wouldn't start with less than 100 mg/wk either. 80 mg/wk is really too low for most people. I was doing 80 mg/wk only to try and avoid the AI. It didn't work out, so since I have to do an AI I am back to 100 mg/wk, plus 500 IU HCG a week (broken into 2 shots).

I had a estriadol and psa test done,E2 was 15. PSA was 0.56 ,Both normal.
I do worry that i will elevate the e2 and not benefit from the added testosterone in my system.
However i agree with staying away from the AI until needed.
