    Doc says NO to HCG....

Well, to say I had a stressful morning would be a total understatement...

Went to my Doc this morning, said I wanted to change a few things in my protocol, and when I brought up starting HCG , he nearly threw a fit !!

I tried to show him the HCG info written by Dr. Crisler, and he wouldn't even look at it. He is afraid that the DEA will come after him if he perscribes HCG, seeing as it is so outlandish. I mentioned all the benefits of it, including increased pregnenolone, and he told me to just take a pregnenolone supplement !!!

I also told him I wanted to stop the test cream and just stick with cyp because I'm concerned about my DHT levels, and he told me that even though I'm using 100 mg of cream per day, that only about 7 mg of that is absorbed. Does that sound right to anyone here ??

Not sure WTF to do now .....

Good news, you're working with an ethical doctor. It's your due diligence to attain certain ancillaries...such as HCG

I agree you need to find a new HRT physician. Someone who understands testosterone and other compounds.

Just get it on your own. It's cheap and easy to get. I got a script but it was way too expensive at Walgreens, even after insurance. Much less expensive to pay out of pocket and use an overseas pharmacy. BAC water and pins are cheap on Amazon.

    Ethical Doctor?

HCG is a totally legal peptide commonly used for fertility.

In fact the drug insert now states it can be used for secondary hypogonadism.

Your Doc, while trying to help, doesn't know what he is doing.

Find another Doc or purchase yourself from a good research site.

Agree with GD. I've said it many times here. It's right on the majority of package inserts anymore for Hypogonadic Hypogonadism.

BTW, take a look at the banner directly on top of this forum. Good place to start looking.....IMHO.

Crisler has it for about $40 for 5k, also overseas runs about 20$ for 5k or less if you get several. Or you can do Novarel 10k for about $190, that's less then 2$ a day and you know it's consistant and that's what I am going with now.

I had basically the same experience with my doc just about a week ago. After reading the posts on this site I began to understand the importance of taking hCG along with testosterone . So I'm looking for a new local doc or a place where I can get my own supply.

Update: Just filled in the form for lowtestosterone.com. Waiting....

Yes, only a portion of transdermals are absorbed. That doesn't mean it won't raise your DHT though. What he said is basically some really poor logic or just trying to confuse you into believing him. It's just a dumb thing to say in response to your concern/statement.

He is right though that the HCG might bring him some more attention. It's been abused by the medical industry and the FDA has been cracking down on it. Despite it being a legal drug to prescribe, as with many drugs, FDA and "defensive medicine" is very real.

Regardless of whether I believe you need the HCG, id be looking for a new doctor just based on the way this guy conducts business.

The most disturbing part to me is when a doctor, like OP's, won't even stop for 5 minutes just to hear him out, and review Dr. Crisler's papers. In my initial journey, I had an endo at Kaiser fire me as a patient because I sent him excerpts from the Journal and Society of Endocrinology, which had some supporting discussions on HCG , and a few other protocol related topics, which he was in denial about. Yes, he actually beat me to the punch, but it was the true starting point of ME taking ownership of my program.

All the options are right in front of you! You can stay on the same course, or commit to making a change and finding a qualified physician that you can 'partner' up with.

I'm new to this forum and have heard Dr. Crisler referred to often, so I wanted to find out a little about him and his treatments. Among the many I went to, these are two links I found rather interesting. They are both from science.blogs.com/whitecoatunderground. I was prevented from posting the entire URL because I'm a new member. But if you do a search, you'll get it.

Just the same, I wouldn't only bring in Crisler's work. I'd suggest you come armed with a handful of studies. The next time I see my urologist, I intend to bring in multiple sources to support my request for hCG treatment. A person is always taken more seriously when this is done - because it shows that you have been serious about your own resources, and you are dead serious about your request. As an educator of nearly thirty years, I've found this to be true for myself in the classroom every time. It shows you've done your own homework and it makes for more respect.

My doc was hardheaded about my request the first time, but I was unprepared to back it up with hard data and that was a big mistake on my part. Again, I'm new to all this but my guess is that aside from physician ignorance, MDs are reluctant to prescribe/administer hCG for testicular atrophy and TRT induced hypogonadism because it is an off label use. It is used for infertility, though. There's an idea.....

I'd like to take a look at that package insert literature. Can you send me a link to it? I haven't been able to find it through my own searches. Also, I asked about a good research site in a previous post. Does anyone have one I can go to? Thanks.
