26 years old. low testosterone symptoms. endo essentially told me I was fine

    Hey guys!
First off, I want to thank you guys in this forum, i've been doing a lot of reading and have really learned a lot in the short time ive been here.
So, a little about me, i'm 26, used to be very active, loved going to the gym 2 hours a day, was very aggressive in bettering myself, LOVED sex, high energy, very very confident in myself.
Fast forward 2 years, all of that has changed. I have zero sex drive, trouble maintaining erections, still force myself to work out even though I have no passion for it anymore, gained 15-25 pounds (weight fluctuates a lot for me), no confidence, no drive, no aggression, Ive essentially lost what made me "me", for lack of a better term and im so freaking tired all of the time I barely want to get off the couch.

(CAN SKIP THIS PART BUT READ IF YOURE ACTUALLY INTERESTED)
I would say for the last 5 years I felt a little "off" but I couldnt figure out why, had a lot of anxiety over it but I didnt have insurance at the time so I just lived with it. The last 2 years I started noticing the prominent symptoms of low test but didnt know that was the cause. The last 2 to 6 months things have hit a wall and I decided to get on the google and figure out what the hell was wrong with me. I got a job that gives me great insurance and im a member of a large bodybuilding websites forums and got a little advice from them but this particular forum frowns on talk about testosterone in any form or fashion. One of my favorite radio talk show hosts got on TRT and he talked about how he felt better. I also heard some radio ads about the low t center. I dont have a PCP but I go to this neighborhood clinic/doctor place and with my insurance they cover anything considered "preventative" care so blood tests are 100pct free. I had him do my blood work but he refused to test me for low testosterone because of my age. At this point I was fairly convinced I had low test, I went to the low T center and they tested me twice (250 and 267 on a 350 to 1000 scale) and wanted to start treatment. Me being so young, I wanted to consult with an endo first. I went to an endo and her staff was helpful but she was very "standoffish" and fairly curt about the entire situation. I told her that I took prohormones when they were legal back in 07-08 but that was it as far as any kind of steroids go. She decided to run her own tests and the results put me in the bottom 15% of whats considered "normal" (will post detailed results below). She essentially told me that im considered normal due to a bell curve and when I asked her why im having these symptoms she said "I dont know" she told me I should "stop taking any supplements" I told her I take the basics like fish oil, a multi, allergy meds, and a prescription anti inflammatory and she told me that she couldnt help me and walked out of the room. The nurse was still in there with me and she strongly advised me to seek a second opinion so I called two different endo's and scheduled appts with them next month. I also went back to my PCP with my new test results and he also told me I was "normal", that I probably have chronic fatigue syndrome and/or depression and that he doesnt treat low t problems. I just feel like ive wasted the last month and a half with this endo. basically to be told that im fine and she doesnt know why I would be having these symptoms.

So, that's all the info I know to post right now, If you guys need more then by all means, ask and I will try to provide it.
Mainly, i'm posting because im so glad I found you guys, but I also need to know as much information as humanly possible. I've never really dealt with doctors in my life and now that I am, I find that I am getting a lot of roadblocks and "I dont knows" and overall a general sense of "youre fine, go home". I AM NOT FINE, I feel like piss and am very frustrated. I would maybe go with the depressed diagnosis but the only reason im depressed is because I dont feel like a freaking man anymore. I also feel like im receiving some discrimination because of the way I look and my age, I feel like if I went to the doctor with these symptoms and these test results at 40 years old, it wouldnt be this difficult
What should I ask my new endo on my next visit?
Should I go to a urologist instead?
Am I dying? Lol (but really, am I?)
Just please, any info or advice you guys could possibly give me would be greatly appreciated because im kind of peeing in the wind right now

Yeah, getting a second opinion is a good path. Try to find a endo who is familiar with male hormones, as some are specialized more with diabetes or thyroid.

Urologist would be good to rule out testicular varicocele.

And no, you're not dying, hang in there, with some patience you will figure it out

Hey man, thanks for the kind words! I really need them right now. I tend to get obsessive about things, especially when my body isnt working right. Ive spent all weekend trying to find doctors in my area. It's a long process and it seems most of the doctors who specialize in hormones are based out of anti aging clinics and i dont know whether I should pursue them or continue trying to find an actual endo based in their own office. I did find a urologist who seems to specialize in low testosterone so im going to give his office a call on tuesday after the holiday. Anyway, thanks for the reply bro

In reviewing your BW your LH and FSH levels appear fine yet your T is low. That said, I would agree with BB and get an ultrasound of your testicals to check for varicoceles. I also suggest a URO over an endo.

Have you had any testicular trauma in your life?

Do not jump on TRT until you get this done with a competent doctor and you're comfortable with the results.

Thank you sir! Ive been looking up urologists in the area and ive found one with very very good reviews and apparently he specializes in male hormones and the causes of low test. I'm calling him on tuesday to get an appt. set up.
I just feel sooooo terrible all of the time and the look on my girlfriends face when I turn her down for sex. Its really a terrible feeling. Being patient is so hard sometimes. lol

P.s. no trauma that I know of but I played football and did mma for a long time so I'm sure there was some. sometimes when I do deadlifts I feel a slight "tug" in my balls but that's when I stop and move to a new exercise. And that only happens once every 6 months but they are tender for about 3 or 4 days after that happens. Idk if it's related to anything though

So, I called the urologist and he doesn't have anything open until the end of next month. I have aN appt for 2 endos next month (on the first and on the 19th). Should I keep those apps and see what they have to say? I just feel like I got totally screwed around by my pcp and my other endo and wasted almost 2 months and I don't want to be in that situation again. What do you guys think I should do?

If insurance is paying it surely won't hurt to see one of them. You never know, he/she may be a keeper. Just keep self educating and be respectfully assertive in your conversation. Any BW that is pulled be sure to maintain copies. It's yours, you paid for it.

Well, went to that endo today and took all my labs and stuff with me. He glanced over them, asked me a couple of questions... wondered why one lab was "normal" and the other two were low. Then he reordered all the same labs I have already done and said "come back in a month". I asked him if they came back the same if he would treat me and he said "I don't know, we will see". Sigh... this blows

Well guys, I went to a total of 4 different doctors and finally got in with this stellar urologist (so 5 doctors total and 4 months of bull). He listened to everything and kind of asked me "well, what do you want to do?". He didnt do an ultrasound but gave me a thorough exam (having my balls examined isnt the most fun thing ive ever done). Anyway, seriously, Im soooo glad I found this guy, he literally spent over an hour with me. He started me on 100mg of test cyponate (sp?) once a week and 1000mg of HCG once a week. The HCG was kind of an afterthought and he threw that in there to keep my balls from atrophying. I asked him about twice weekly injections and he was like... "well, if you want to do that then we will give you a different kind of testosterone " so he really was all about what I felt was best (Im assuming since ive done hours of research on low t he figured I kinda knew a little bit). Anyway, I got a shot in the ass while I was there and his office is sending my prescription to a compounding pharmacy and im awaiting their call later today. It was awesome though, as soon as she gave me the injection I immediately got a rock hard erection, lost 20lbs of fat, my abs came back, I picked up the exam table and threw it out of the third story window jumped out of said window, and flew home like superman where I gave my woman the lovemaking of her life. This stuff really does work!
