    Does HGH raise natural IGF?

I was talking to a friend the other night, and he was telling me that taking HGH would raise your natural IGF, is this true? Second, if you take IGF, and you have a history of cancer in your family, is it true that you now have a higher chance of getting cancer? This was all new news to me, so help me figure this out!
    thanks

Yes, it does raise your IGF leve. It will go back down when you stop. My Doc tested my for IGF levels and I had to ask why. Said it was easier as GH only
has a 20 min half life. The IGF levels stay up there for quite a while.

I have NO idea if IGF will affect cancer at all? Sorry! If you are prone to cancer you should definately get blood tested for PSA and Liver frequently.

Correct. Exogenous hGH will raise IGF-I and IGF-II levels through its conversion in the liver. While IGF could speed up existing cancer growth (depending on the type of cancer) it does not cause cancer. Same for AAS, they dont cause prostate cancer, but since the prostate is an androgen dependent organ it can speed up existing prostate cancer growth and thus its contraindication.

Alright, cool, thats all good to know! One more question... and I know its gonna be hard to say, but talking about cancer, on my fathers side, there has been history of high blood pressure, heart attacks, skin cancer(way to much sun, he was a fisherman), stomach cancer, and prostate cancer. Now, another thing I have to take into consiteration is the fact that his diet was horrible! to say the least, way to high in chol. and sat. fat. Now on my mothers side, everyone, and I mean everyone is cancer free for the last 5 generations. So, what im asking is, if I go see a doctor, and he says my liver and all is up to par, could I still be at risk? What can I do to prevent prostate cancer, any supps? To bad I didnt know that before starting my first cycle! Sorry for so many questions, theres just to much to know...

    Thanks

man, I don't know....there is alot of stuff out there linking higher IGF levels with cancer, especially in the prostate for men...not just accelerating an existing condition....unfortunately IGF does seem to have a downside

Most prostate problems surface after 40 years old. You should be careful
'blood work' and all. But don't over-worry.
