Sugar to Insulin Ratio
This might be an amature question but approximately how many grams of sugar (dextrose form) need to be ingested to spike insulin ? whats a safe amount of insulin to be present without putting a heavy strain on the pancrease? thanks guys!

When you are perfomin insulin therapy on yourself, you ingest dextrose not to spike insulin, but to provide your body enough carbs to survive as insulin can put you in a state of hypo gylcemia. Spiking your insulin naturally depends on your body in particular. But as far as insulin therapy goes, the general rule is 10 grams of carbohydrates per IU with a minimum of 100 grams of carbohydrates.
So if you supplement with 2 IU, you need to ingest 100 carbohydrates within the active duration of the drug to avoid hypoglycemia. If you supplement with 12 IU, you should ingest 120 carbs. You may find that you need more or less carbs depending on your body's sensitivity to insulin. But a new user should always play it safe and opt for more carbs rather than less.
