Important Myostatin question.....
Wondering if anybody here has heard of the research being done with Myostatin to help cure MD. In Septembers issue of Flex there's a great spread explaining how Myostatin would be beneficial by blocking it completely by injecting a myostatin inhibitor. Do any of you guys think this is worth trying? I might be able to get my hands on it but its real expensive and i dont know what the dosage would be. In the Flex issue they say that two injections spaced out within one week of each other would increase muscle mass 40-60%

"Myostatin activity can be blocked by the Activin-binding protein Follistatin, and by the propeptide of Myostatin. mice with muscle-specific over-expression of myostatin propeptide showed 45-115% increased muscle mass compared to wild-type mice. Myostatin Propeptide has a possible value for enhancing muscle mass in human therapeutic uses." I can get my hands on both the Myostatin Propeptide and the Follistatin. Can someone help me with this? No matter how much research i do i cant find whether you can use these two together and what the dosage is.

You are out of you mind.
You do realize myostatin is in just about every muscle tissue in your body. Not just skelatal muscle. Like your heart for example!!!!!!!! Think about it...
What is a mystatin inhibitor going to do to, lets say your biceps that you workout once a week? Now whats a myostatin inhibitor going to do to your heart which exerts itself constantly?
SO EVERYTHING GROWS!
Get a grip brother, are you PRO or trying to go PRO? If not I say leave that shit to the big boys. What happened to a good old test cycle?

And I'm pretty sure the 40-50% increase of muscle mass in two week, were the results of a study conducted in mice.
I'll look it up for you.

He was in germany he is like 9 or 10 now not expected to live past 15 even with treatments.
Why eff up your body man? You do realize these are irreversible changes?
The point im getting at is that the human body is an amazing and complex system. I mean we beat our selves up pushing and pulling rediculous amounts of weight every day, and our body doesnt flop over and wither away. NO, we get bigger and stronger. If the human body was meant to not have myostatin it wouldnt. Are the benifits really going to outweigh the risks???

I must agree with Andre here. This is something that has never ever been researched on humans, as far as I know and is way too risky. The changes caused by this would be irreversable. I really would be concerned about growth of muscles other than skeletal muscles. Cardiac muscles and perhaps even smooth muscle might be effected. I would wait until more research is done. This is much more risky than shooting up heroin in my opinion, at least we know what heroin does to the human body! The effects of this stuff on humans has never been explored. I dont even think the likes of Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler would mess with this stuff.

apparently the myostatin only effects skeletal muscle. i've heard no reports of early death in the numerous myostatain mice or cattle.

right mma, i read that the kid is in perfect health no heart problems. I actually emailed the Dr. that did the study with the rats at john hopkins university and im waiting for his reply.
