    Insulin 1st timer after advice

Hi Guys, i'm going to run insulin for the first time and i've been advised to run 1IU per day for 4 weeks then break for 2 weeks. Then re-run the same cycle times but using 2UI's per day, 1UI in the morning then 1UI PWO.

I've been told to inject immediately after my workout and consume 60G of Protein and 60G of carbohydrates after the injection. So im going to have a protein shake and snickers immediately after the insulin injection does this seem ok?

I've noticed theres lots of different types of insulin available. The main one i've heard of from other threads is Humalog IM. Has anyone heard of Lantus insulin as i can get this for free of my mum and was wondering if used does it have the same effects as Humalog IM.

    Thanks Guys

^^X's 2^^ Insulin can kill you easily if you don't pay attention. This is serious stuff for serious lifters. Pay close attention to what you are doing.

Lantus is insulin that is released evenly over a 24 hour period. I take 20 iu/day to lower my basal glucose level from around 107 to mid 80's. However, I have high glucose level to begin with, which is why I take Lantus. If your glucose level is reading normal when you first wake up, then Lantus is probably not going to benefit you.

You need to be very careful that you don't accidentally take your Humalog, thinking that you're taking Lantus. If you do that, it could kill you. It's a good idea to have a high sugar product like soda pop or honey close by, so if you push your glucose down too low that you can fix it. You really don't ever want to push your glucose level below 70.

IMO - Insulin is serious business and you should know what you are doing and have a reason to take it.

Insulin is absolutely no joke. If you are asking this question you shouldn't be thinking about taking it.
