    Insulin other than post workout..

I have taken insulin on and off several times with my cycles but have always done 10-12 iu's post workout with my quick carb shake. I have read quite a bit about people taking 5 iu's in the morning with breakfast to jumpstart their nutrition uptake but wasnt sure what to eat, Idealy I only eat slow digesting carbs throughout the day except on Slin with my PWO shake. If i do just 5iu's of slin in the morning I sure don't want to drink another shake full of sugar but would be a good source of quick breakfast carbs?

Also on test E and HGH 4iu's 5 on 2 off. been on HGH for 8 weeks now

Are you talking about using fast acting insulin in the morning? If so then you need fast acting carbs aka sugar.

Yes I use Humalog most of the time but can use humilin r if it is a better choice. Other than the shake would a banna or white rice be ample enough as long as it is the right amount of carbs per iu?

I don't think it's a good idea to use slin also with breakfast... Just some high GI carbs and that's your fix... I don't think is necessary, and you need to include some healthy fats with your breakfast, it's important. If you take slin in the morning you can take fat... And that would be a problem. I just don't see the benefits.

Good point because I typically drink a shink first thing in the morning with 14grams of fat in it (flax seed oil) and have 1 cup of oatmeal. Is that about enough fat for breakfast? I take in 80-100 grams of fat per day depending on my carbs that day.

I would have to see your stats and current calorie intake with it's proper macronutrient ratios to answer with accuracy...
Also, metabolism plays a key role here... Some people start taking 100g of fat daily and they're on their way to get obese...
But at plain sight it looks just about right.

I see your macros in place. And I think that's ok, but if you want my opinion, you could slightly improve your BF at the same time you make steady muscle gains if you do, instead of increasing your fat intake the days you're changing the ratios, just increase your cardio... That will do as "decreasing carbs" just the same, but without the added fat and keeping the same daily caloric intake.

Well, that's what I would do.

But you can continue doing it your way, as long as your BF doesn't add numbers.

Red you seem to know quite a bit! I have never actually talked to someone about nutrition other than reading on here for the last several years, took me long enough to creat an account.. well i do cardio mon-fri in the am on an empty stomach 30 minutes at 60-65% max heart rate. (i just started the cardio a few weeks ago) are you saying to change the carbs but leave the fat the same? sorry i wasnt quite understanding.

    I didn't knew you're doing cardio already.
Well, first of all... Why do you have some days with fewer carbs, more fat than the others? Some kind of carb cycling approach?
    With what purpose?

Actually my boss who used to be into bodybuilding "back in the day" suggested it, said it would be a start of carb, fat manipulation. said it was kinda simple but was a start and along the same idea, trick your body to pull fat from different sources I think? would you suggest keeping it the same everyday? and do you have any opinions on the type of cardio im doing, some people say interval..

I think it's perfect the way you're doing cardio right now. Interval training or "HIIT" burns a lot of muscle. I've tried it myself... I don't like it nor recommend it.

And I think it's better (and more simple and easy too) to keep your food intake the same everyday. If there any adjustments to make, just make them from week to week.

I've also done carb cycling VS just reducing calories and manipulating carb intake weekly (not by days) and it threw the same result, but obviously the latter without all the mess and without complicating yourself more than you actually need.

    That's my opinion.

Ok I will stick with the regular cardio, i have always read about HITT burning muscle but didn't know if it would still be an issue on test, also I simple don't have the energy to do it in the morning! So how do I know which carb level to stay with everyday. I just have always been told not to drop calories if i do not wish to lose any muscle, I know its hard to keep muscle on when dieting and doing cardio and everyone loses some but i don't wish to be contest lean, just a good size with a good stomach, 10-11% maybe? so i was droping the carbs and raising the fat to keep overall calories the same. but who knows, 3300 may be too much fo me, maybe 2800 is my spot? do you have any suggestions on a better carb fat intake and would you always keep it the same or say 300 one week then 250 the next then 300 again? Sorry for all the questions its just frustrationg how many variables there are and how many options we have!!

I measure my BF and weight every 2 weeks. I base of that, I make the proper adjustments. I suggest you do that too.
If you're trying to add size but at the same time cut some fat... The results MUST be slow, otherwise you either lose muscle or gain fat. Your goal is one of the most difficult there is. Most of the people just concentrate on gaining or losing one step at the time, you're trying to do both.

The only one who knows if you need "x" or "y" amount of calories, it's YOU. You must know your body.

You say you're on test right now? How much time do you have lifting?
