needle length for sub-q injections
what's a good needle size for growth injections? was using 1/2 inch 30 gauge insulin needles but i'm very lean so i just ordered 5/16 inch 30 gauge needles...felt it would be easier since i'm running out of skin to pinch on my stomach.

1/2 or 5/16 is good. Even on a lean person 1/2 is fine. What you have to do is pinch up a fold of skin, and inject into the peak of the fold so you say in the skin layer and don't hit the underlying muscle.

5/16 if you are lean. At least for me.

The itch comes from a reaction to the injectable in the subq layer. The needle length or pinching up skin does not contribute to it. If you get a reaction doing subq, you should stick with IM. I go through periods where I have to do IM. Later, I'll try subq again and won't get any reaction. For me, reactions mostly happen when my E2 levels are too low. No clue as to the connection, but for me it is there.
