    Insulin post workout meals/timing

Contemplating doing an insulin cycle, but would like a little more info in regards to meals/timing.

Right now I'm 28 years old, 6' 204 and 9% (9 point caliper). Diet is in check by currently eating roughly 4500 cals (500C, 350P, 120F).

Not sure when I will start exactly, but will be adding test to they cycle (500mg split every 3.5 days) and will work my way up to 10iu humalin r post workout (5 days per week).

I have done a "trial" eating what i would if I was on insulin and am finding it very hard to put down the food. I am looking for suggestions or what other members are doing to see if I can find any solutions that will help me.

    I currently am doing:

60-90 mins pre workout - Solid meal - 8 oz chicken with 2 cups rice

30 mins pre workout - C4 pre workout drink with BCAAs and Glutamine

    Workout (60 mins)

Immediately following workout (Where I would normally inject insulin) I consume 70g Vitargo, 10g creatine, 10g glutamine

    15 mins after - 50g whey protein

1:15 post shot - 8oz chicken with 1 cup white rice

I have tried this three times and maybe I just need to man up, but I am extremely full by the time I'm ready to eat my solid meal. All I can think is that I am having a ton of water (20oz with the vitargo and 12 oz with the whey) which is filling me up past the point of eating.

I tried to mix the vitargo with the whey into one shake, but it comes up like pudding since there is so much powder.

I have been reading some labels and saw a decent weight gainer from dymatize, but it contains about 10g of fat per servings and I honestly don't know how fast the carbs act so was thinking it might be ok for post workout meal? Maybe a whey/oatmeal shake?

Any advice is appreciated and if i just have to man up and eat I will, but I am looking for a better way to do this so I don't throw up all the food I just ate. Thanks again.

have another meal at about 2:45-3 post shot

You will get used to it, this is why you build up the dose slowly

Try karbolyn by american efx, much easier to get down then vitargo

Thanks for the tips. I forgot to mention the last meal so thank you for pointing that out. For the trial my last meal while the insulin is still active is 8oz of white fish and a 10oz white potato.

I have some waxy maize on order, but will be ordering some Karbolyn as well.

I have also read some of your posts on pre workout insulin and thinking I might try a test run that way with the shakes to see how that goes.

Thanks again for all of your help.

No problem man, start slow and stay safe with the carb intake. I did post workout for a little bit to get the feel for the insulin before trying pre workout. I do feel pre workout is much more effective as long as you know what your doing. Always keep simple carbs on hand anywhere you go and never let your guard down. You have to respect this stuff. It wouldn't hurt to grab a glucose meter, you can get them for $20-30.

From reading I am going to make sure I start with at least 10 carbs/iu and back down as needed, but never going under 7 carbs/iu. I have already purchased a glucose meter and starting taking my blood sugar levels. When I am at my lowest (about 3 hours after I eat a meal) I am in the low 80s. I was the highest yesterday after my vitargo/whey at the high 160s. I know anywhere between 80-120 is in the normal range and if I ever drop below 80 I will consume some quick carbs.

At all times I will have glucose tabs on hand as well as in my car/house I have coolers packed with OJ and full sugar coke.

I have read as much as I can about insulin and am taking it very seriously as I know a person can go from normal to passing out in less than three mins.

    Thanks again.

Good to see your taking this seriously. I worked down to 7g carbs per iu and never felt the need to try to go any lower. I put on minimal fat at that amount and never went hypo.

I really appreciate the help. I put an order in for Karboyln earlier today and am going to try that. I took my vitargo/whey like normal today (day 4 of trial) and I don't feel so bloated or full....hopefully I will just get used to it like you suggested. Thanks again.

Alex....Sorry to bother you again, but read a few more posts and had a couple questions.

I see that you take pre workout. Have you ever taken post workout or only pre and if so difference in results?

I understand that your body usings your nutrients better with insulin ....do you up your diet when u are on or stay the same? Example I am on 500 carbs now...would I need to up that?

Lastly, I use syntha 6 fo my protein, but it's a fattier protein than others....I'm not getting a ton of fat with it, but would you recommend changing it for my shakes while on insulin?

    Thanks again.

I did use it post workout to get comfortable with it, but not long enough to see a difference in results. When taking insulin pre workout you are forcing carbs, protein, and other nutrients into your muscles pre, intra, and post workout. Logic tells me that this should be much more effective than just taking insulin pwo.

I understand that your body usings your nutrients better with insulin ....do you up your diet when u are on or stay the same? Example I am on 500 carbs now...would I need to up that?

I had higher days and lower days. My workout days would contain my normal amount of carbs plus the 225g of additional carbs for my pre, intra, and post workout shakes. It's going to boil down to you getting to know your body and finding the right amount of carbs for you. I would leave your carbs the same for now as it's very easy to get fat using insulin, and add some in if needed.

Lastly, I use syntha 6 fo my protein, but it's a fattier protein than others....I'm not getting a ton of fat with it, but would you recommend changing it for my shakes while on insulin?

I would try to limit fats as much as possible. How much fat are you talking per shake? Keeping fat to the absolute minimum well the slin is active is always going to be your best option.

    Thanks again.

Syntha 6 is 6g fat per scoop and I use just over 2 scoops to get my 50g of protein...so I'm guessing around 14-15g per shake....If i do the two shakes pre/post then I'm at around 30g of fat which seems high as I'm writing this.

The more I read I think pre workout makes the most sense as well. I will start post to get used to it, but I think pre workout would give me the most benefits. This also seems like it will be a little easier to get down as I'm used to drinking something intra workout and will just replace with the "carb shake".

    Thanks once again.

good your putting in the research. insulin completly changed me. it got me over a hump i was stuck at for a long time and no amount of test could help. as you know its dangerous and like you said, you want to start at 10g per IU. thats how i started before slowley lowering to 5. just listen to your body. you will know if you need more cards. i usually got real lightheaded and hungry as the 1st sign. be safe bro

Thanks for the advice as well. I currently have everything I need lined up. Purchased Humalin-R and have all the needed syringes and saftey precautions on hand.

I am contemplating on starting on Monday on an insulin cycle only, but have also thought that I would run 500mg of enthate a week split every 3.5 days in conjunction.

Knowing that enthate takes a few weeks to get into your system and fully work, I would run insulin at 10iu (start at 5 and up 1iu per day till 10iu) for 4 weeks. I would run enthate for 12 weeks and do pct. I have also read that people have used insulin to keep their gains as well so I am researching a bit more.

I am 203 and 9%bf now and would like to get to around 215 at 8%....I would think that 12 plus lbs of muscle, and muscle that I hold on to is going to take more than a 4 week insulin cycle so that's why I'm thinking about doing the enthate. I have a friend in the gym that just finished up 4 weeks of insulin and he put on a lot of good weight and very noticeable strength so kind of itching to pull the trigger.

Thanks again for all of your help.
