I'm told the two should be kept in the refrigerator but I have certain people in my house who can't know about it, so would it be ok to store the two in my basement where the temp is always much cooler, even more so now the winter in approaching?

The recommended storage times for injectable peptides are as follows;

Room temperature (up to 45 degrees Celsius)
Mixed vials - <48 hours
Unmixed vials - 60 days

Any vials you have which are stored outside of these times/temperatures are still safe to use, they will not cause you any harm. The only thing to keep in mind is that they will begin to degrade and will not be 100% as effective as a new and unexpired vial, so your results may not be as good. However this is only a general guideline.

The unmixed vials I would store in the freezer that way you can use them at a later day if you wish to (up to 48 months).
