What would help a bulging disc in lower back?

Hey guys. My wife has a bulging disc in her lower back that is causing pain in her left Glute. She exercises 5 days a week, mostly boot camp and step class. She's never used steroids . I was wondering if any of you could recommend a peptide of some sort that might help her safely. Maybe, mk-677, TB-500, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about peptides doing much for a herniated disc, but for mine I do timed inversions. One big plus was also purchasing a reverse hyper for my home gym, that has helped tremendously. Some gyms have them.

Lastly, I do about 10-15 minutes of yoga every morning as soon as I get out of bed with poses directed specifically for helping realign my discs and spine.

My herniation is the L5/S1 so these three things help keep me upright, not sure if it would do the same for her depending on location of her injury.

Id also avoid high impact exercises until it's resolved such as running, box jumps etc.

Hers is the disc between Vertebras L5 and L4. One disc up from yours. What exactly is a reverse hyper?
I agree with yoga and I will certainly try and help her begin practicing it.
She has had 2 rounds of 3 CSI injections that didn't last a week each shot. So we're getting a little desperate. She doesn't want to start taking painkillers.
Viking, thanks a bunch! I really appreciate it brother!

Yes she's been doing physical therapy for a month or more. I'm afraid her exercise at the gym is aggravating it too much.
    Thanks, Bio!

Not a problem brother, anything I can do to help, as I know how frustrating it can be.

Louie Simmons from westside barbell invented the hyper back in 1994, for injuries just like these. You can look on his website at them, and I'm sure YouTube, I bought mine off eBay for a fraction of what they cost. After the yoga it has been the best investment I made for my longevity, and my wallet for chiro visits. It acts as a pendulum opening up the discs in the lower part of the posterior chain and allowing the synovial fluid to enter in and the discs to "go back where they belong" as Louie told me lol.

It's a great piece of equipment, not sure where you're located but search out some gyms and see if anybody has one so she can try it out first.

Yea don't laugh lol, I got the DDP yoga DVDs and I took his morning wake up routine and added in 2-3 of my own yoga poses and if I don't do that every morning then I don't move well at all. I swear by the yoga and the hyper. The hanging inversions are good, but I haven't needed them as much with the hyper and yoga.

Yea Bio. I checked out the Mckenzie method. That's absolutely a great exercise regimen there! The pt she's seeing now has her doing some of that at home. I just didn't know what the name was until now. But we are going to get into that seriously now. Thanks again brother!

It will make the hips and low back pretty sore but it really dose push that jelly back into the center of the disc area so that the disc can build scar tissue were the bulge was

Hey Viking. I checked out the Hyper, and that things got to help! I'm sure there's one at the gym we go to. We need one at home. I'm gonna start scrolling eBay for one. Thanks again for the great information brother! It's worse watching my wife suffer like this than if it was me. I do appreciate it.

No problem bro! I hope she gets better ASAP man. I've had mine since 1997 and it isn't fun when it's out of place. Let me know how it works out if y'all find one close. Just make sure the form is as Louie dictates, and the reps high. Makes a difference. Good luck!!!

Viking, what are the advantages of the reverse hyper compared to the 45% extension or roman chair. The reverse hyper was pretty pricey compared to the other two. But if it is worth it there just isn't a price you can put on it. I also have to do a bunch of stretching as soon as I get out of bed or my sciatica is brutal. I will scout the Craigslist. Thanks for the info..

They are just totally different movements in what they do, and how they operate, in regards to flexion of the spine itself. It literally is one of those pieces of equipment if you have not been on it to experience its benefits then it's hard to comprehend almost lol. Upon first using it I knew I was going to buy one for my home gym, I found myself using it, not just for rehabilitation purposes, but to warm up my lower back/posterior chain prior to deads, squats and even bench press. The weighted pendulum motion and the way it opens up the lower back is second to none for me, it has literally kept me upright when my disc is aggravated.

Unfortunately nothing will help with a bulging or herniated disc, other than rest and NOT re-injuring it. I popped a disc in my lower back over 10 years ago. There is NOTHING you can put into your body to help it heal, literally nothing. Not even stem cells if such a therapy was approved in the US.

Fortunately there are now many, many doctors that can do micro disc surgeries should she ever need to go that route.

I deal with my injury by not aggravating it in the gym. Work around it. Find alternative exercises to the ones that make it hurt.

Deadlifts I have to be VERY careful. Some ab exercises I cannot do at all unless I want to spend 3 days in pain and out of the gym.

Fortunately, if she just has a bulging disc, it will likely "unbulge" in time if she doesn't aggravate it. My bulging disc eventually did just that and "healed" itself. But the disc that ruptured............ pffft, those injuries never heal. There are no peptides, no prescriptions, no anything that will make that better. I hope its just bulging and not herniated!
