This just isn't my year, new pain in hand

Man this just isn't my year for being injury and problem free. Finally got my hernia fixed then while recovering from that had severe shin pains and had to take a break for that. Then almost recovered from hernia surgery and thought I had kidney stones. Dr still hasn't figured that one out, ordered my own blood work and should have results monday from that. Now my hand is getting sharp pains where it meets wrist on pinky side and my thumb and forefinger. I've been battling with tendonitis (tennis elbow)as well for the last few years off and on. And sometimes it feels like the pain my be connected to my forearm. Going to the dr today and hopefully he'll send me to a hand specialist. Anyone else had similar issues? I'm hoping to just get a cortisone shot and that it's just another overuse injury that will subside with rest and therapy. Getting old sucks!

Ok the worst 4 letters I never wanted to hear G O U T! The dr thinks it might be gout. Uric acid level has been high but not out of range and steady for the last 5 years. Also have had high, above normal calcium level for the last 5 years. So dr put me in a splint and will re-check and go from there in 2 weeks. They want to run a a parathyroid test since it is responsible for calcium. Dammit!

Never had this issue but seems like it can be reduced with diet and some meds. hope the recovery is quick!

Thanks guys and gals. The worst part is that a few years ago when they first said my uric acid level was high I got my diet in line except for fish. I eat alot of salmon, shrimp, clams, mussels, oysters,I'm a fisherman for crying out loud. They won't just give you pills for gout unless you have a big flare up,I guess the meds are very harsh. So I will stick to chicken and turkey for my protien sources and cut out all fish for now. I'll cut out the wine too even though I only drink 1-2 glasses per week. They gave me a wrist splint and it helped quite a bit,so I think it might be just tendonitis in my hand. I hate to say it but I'm almost thinking its better to have tendonitis than gout. The hernia repair is great though,I don't have to worry about anything popping out when doing abs.

Well after a few weeks of anti inflammatories and eating little to nothing with purines in it wrist and thumb still bothering me. So dr recommends physical therapy, therapist confirms its tendonitis. Tennis elbow and tendonitis of the anatomical snuffbox tendon,I've just been overdoing it. So hopefully this will subside and I can finish some projects around the house and get back to lifting. Been doing cardio, legs, and sticking to a strict diet. I have lost some muscle but I gotta get this fixed. Hopefully will start lifting again in a few weeks but not heavy for a few months.
