Broken Collarbone
I broke my collarbone four months and a few weeks ago. I started training again after two months. I've got a knot of cartilage the size of a large lemon (way bigger than a golf ball) in my collarbone now and that is a lot more than it was right before I restated training. At first I was going at a lower intensity but recently I've increased/weight-decresed/reps while incorporating the rowing machine into my off day. Now, I am noting that there is a lot more movement in the bone underneath the cartilage. I take a multi-vit and 1-2 cups milk daily plus I get in the sun for around an hour/week. I had just assumed that if cartilage built up it would immobilize the break but it hasn't happened yet. I don't want the cartilage to grow much larger as I've seen people with evidence of cartilage left behind after a collarbone break. Also, I just want the damn bones to set. I don't want to stop working out.
Any suggestions?

If you were supposed to keep the colllar bone immobile for X amount of time, and you are not allowing that much time, and insttead started working out, it seems to me like you are playing with fire.
Let it heal mate. Healing ttakes time.

I appreciate the input and I'm going to follow it. I've got lasik coming in two weeks. I'll have to take 1 month off because they want to keep blood pressure and pulse rate down-something like that anyway. I hope after that month that I won't have to worry so much. I followed up with the ortho today and he is a useless workmans comp serving sob but he did suggest that my problem could be more about nerve damage. I'll have to follow up that lead when I get a chance. Thanks for the support-it really means a lot to me to have that.
