What the Hell is Going on with My Hamstrings?

Over this past week or so they have been getting tighter and tighter. Its starting to reach the point where touching my toes is unbearable and impossible. I haven't trained legs over a week so no shot of a sprain or DOMS. Sitting up on my bed with my legs straight out HURTS and stretching them is torture. Its only been getting slightly worse over time. I've never had this happen to me before. I can't even bend over to grab things without bending my knees almost half way. Help before I lose my mind. Its not the whole hamstring complex but rather one towards the outer part of the leg. If you put your hand on the outer side of your leg its a little behind where you pinky is.

haha, going to start stretching daily and see if that helps. Only thing I can think of is being back at school and spending hours behind a desk doing work.

I dont know if you do them when you train but one of the best thing for my hammies is stif leg deads on a box. I get an awesome stretch, helps them overall feel better. I used to cycle a lot (bicycle) and as a result my quads got a ton of work and even with training my hamstrigs started to lag behind and I started getting terrible cramps. Waking up in the middle of the night. I started hitting hams harder with stiff legged deads and high foot potision leg press. This was early on in my training an all I was really doing for them was girly ass leg curls. Anyway dont know if thats what up with you but figured Id share it. It could be because you are more sedintary (especially sitting with pressure on back of hamstrings) but I thought Id throw that out there.

    5 minutes on a stationary
stiff leg good mornings with light weights

and I pull down on the seat taking the friction away from the hams on leg extensions

my hams seem to be doing fine here lately

Foam roll, use a lacrosse ball on the tight tissue, dynamic stretching, some light static stretching, and e-stim can all help depending on the cause.

this has been working for me some, but my hammies seem to always go back to being tight.

Has to be done regularly brother. Even on off days from the gym. A PL'ing buddy of mine on another board has also found relief through yoga. Just another option to consider

Yeah that pretty much describes it, only thing Ive been doing different this year is using a bicycle to get around. I too only do girly ass hamstring curls on the machine where I lay down and the one where I sit down and curl legs toward myself.

Forgot to mention I started taking cialis at 5mg a day since last week. I read fr numerous sources that about 1-3% of people get moderate to sever pain in the lower back, gluteus, and/or upper LEGS, usually at night. Seems during the day they are fine and get worse or sypmtoms appear around night and I wind up waking up in the middle of the night with radiating pain. Feels more like a nerve is being pinched or Something other than a cramp. Maybe the vasodilation is ****ing me up. Cialis and riding a bike are the only things that have changed really.

Starte cialis 3.5 mg daily 3 weeks ago and having issue with lower back. Not real pain just uncomfortable at night and while doing bench press and leg press machine. No issues sitting or doing back workout.

    Could cialis cause this?

On occasion cialis will give me an overall achy feeling. I'd say may 40% of the time it just makes me ache all over. Cut out the cialis and see if your leg pain goes away.
