Im a hude fan of layne but lyle calls him out with valid argument, layne replies making jokes of lyle's mother. Go see a second opinion

It's on fb, right now! Lyle keeps on posting strong points while layne remains silent. Lyle says metaboluc damage is bullsh....and backs it up. Askung layne to provide single scientific proof of what he claims!

U have to bebon my computer to say who i believe. In general, people dont spare enough time to see results. They say it's nit working and look to change. If u binge in the meantume u can gain 10 lb for a day and fall unto the delusion youre gaining fat in least possible calories. Its mental not physical damage been there too.As u get leaner your expenditure decreases - smaller body requires less calories no doubt.

Why do you not agree with layne jimmy? I've just come off a very restrictive diet and have just started following laynes advice after I watched this video, im slowly gradually increasing my calories as he advises.
Why do you think this advise is bogus?
I don't know what Lyles views are on this, if someone would like to fill me in?Last edited by 951thompson; 05-02-2013 at 12:46 PM.

I don't think Lyle disputes metabolic slowdown when eating in a deficit, because they is data to back that up.his issue is with what layne was saying about girls putting on bodyfat eating at 800cals per day. Lyle believes this is impossible on the base of energy expenditure.

I don`t buy it either. I`m a huge fan of Layne, everybody on 800 calories doing 2 hours of cardio will lose weight and achieve contest shape. They either don`t give them enough time or don`t report correctly their food intake. Also get freaked with water weight.
And here`s where Layne goes marginally wrong (and he knows it) - nobody gains weight while in deficit. The Minnesota study is pretty explicit - even after 6 months of dieting on severe deficit 50%, metabolic slow down accounts for 15% of the initial rate.
There`s no much more that could be said.
As for adding food slowly - well 5-7 gr a week is irrelevant! However, 50 gr a week could be beneficial and helpful in terms of prevented water weight gains, stable blood sugar, psychological aspect.
That`s my .2 cents though.

I dont think layne is making this up either. My strong belief is that people mis-report their food intake.
Ive seen people/females reporting exactly 800 calories along 1 hour cardio 7 days a week. I did not know what to do more. Now a year later i get to know she was in deep distress and secretly bindging on 5k plus calories every 4 th day or so.
