doing a cycle..is it worth it?

Briefly i used aas when I was 18-21..amazing results..four various cycles of d-bol, test cyp, anadrol , methyl t's ..no side effects then...all good

20 years later at the age of 38, I did a cycle that consisted of d-bol to get things going..4 wks..up to 50 mgs a day..then sust 250 2cc first week..did a shot eod mwf 2ccs for four months..

results enormous gains physically, and strength wise..solid 235..bencing 445lbs shrugs with 900..overall amazing

Im posting this a year and a half after being finsihed the cycle for a couple reasons..a warning if you will

I did thisicycle safely, moderately, and did pcp after

    to date:

    1. lost a significant amount of hair in the front..it was falling out at a rate that seriously depressed me, and was very noticeable to everyone who knew me

    2. Sexually, had a tremendous amount of difficulty maintaining an erection during the cycle, as well as achieving orgasm..I was all show, no go

    3. tore my acl, as it has been explained to me by several authorities on the subject, the use of AAS will deplete your body of essential vits and minerals, in otherwords it has to come from somewhere..acl tear as a direct result of AAS

    4. sexual dysfunction, just came back from the urologist..hey what do you know..I have the test level of a 70 yr old man, like drving a ferrari on 87 octane

    5. Liver?...yep u guessed it abnormal liver count

    6. gallstone..pollyps in that too

so you tell me..is it worth it?

So you were basically doing 6cc's per week and taking 50mg of pills per day. Sorry Bro but it sounds like you did not do enough research and brought some of this on yourself, things are much different in a 38 year old man verses when you were 18-20

I think it was your early cycles that started your way to the list you made. That last cycle is not out of line.

And for the guys saying 50mg of dbol is not alright for a 38 year old, your wrong. 4 weeks of dbol in a year @ 50mg is not going to hurt anyone who takes the right precautions like, ALA, Milk Thistle, and does not drink or take other drugs that work the liver for those 4 weeks. I'm 35, no problems with using dbol 4 weeks a year. Blood tests prove it. Also know people in their 40's that do not have a problem. You just have to watch you BP closer.

The early cycles probably messed up your nat. test production. The last cycle may have been the straw that broke the camels back, but I don't see too much wrong with it, if you executed it with PCT and supplements perfectly.

It seems a little heavy to me, was he training for a while or just woke up and stuck all this stuff in his body. How was his diet, what supplements was he taking? there is lots to consider with this. I have 2 buddies 35 and 41 that did 1CC of Sus and Winny pills toward the end of the cycle and the results were amazing and no side effects either. All of in our 30's fear these sides, hair loss, internal damage. Who wants to speed up dieing right, I think in your 30's if you plan to use, it should be kept at a minimum. Have some hit it very hard and had great results sure, but why use a 200 Shot of NOS on your engine when 150 is safer and still gives you results.I have a hard time buying what he did 18 years ago had a effect today, unless he was a major juice head at a early age.

The problem is what his cycles looked like when he was younger. I am sure he was not using correct pct, or even supplements for liver protection. I still think he messed up early on. 4 weeks of dbol is not going to kill anyones liver permanently in their 30's esp w/ the right precautions.

You questions are right about how he prepared, also the key thing is blood tests. If he did them prior to starting he may have seen his liver function was border line, or had a problem before he gulped down more dbol.

Kids that take this stuff early on tend to not do pct, or take any precautions (esp back in the 80's and 90's, b4 the internet). They also don't get blood tests and have know idea what they just did to their body.

I see very little preparation for this cycle he just did as well

    good dialogue

I put this up as a precursor of things that are coming for all of us...I have a friend who was a very successful Bodybuilder in the late 60's and early 70's ..hes going through the same things as well...he reminds me of the damage done..ie the price you pay..

I spent a good two yrs on this board reviewing vaarious cycles..etc..learning about pct..

your right as a kid..in 84/85 no one heard about pct..anything..you gauged on what you saw..drugs where different then..test cypionate ..was powerful stuff..my last cycle back then was anadrol 2 tabs a day and test cyp everyother day..certainlly I believe those actions are showing themselves today..how can they not? pct?..had never heard of it till recently

As for my condition coming in..i never gave up training..only the juice for 20 yrs..i hovered around 11 percent bodyfat..could run 10 miles easily..bike 3 hours climbing no sweat..fantastic workouts..good energy..great pumps..great strengths in my movements..all respectable ..

    I don't drink at all..havent in over 7 years..

no drug use in over 7 years

    no smoking

    cleean diet..

as for the dbol ..i agree..4 weeks isnt going to do anything..the sust was the culprit here i do believe..i started out low..2 ccs a wek for the first 2 weeks..and got up to 6 cc's a week...and stayed at that level for three months..reading everything i read here that you need to maintain consistency in your sist cycle..not pyramid etc(old cycle thinking)..everything i learned in this cycle I am providing as information for you to personally disseminate..not judge..or point fingers...its a dicey game...and as I stated in the beginning ..is it worth it?..you have to ask yourself that question and realize..i believe that there will be a price to pay..our bodies at this age, are not the same...I do believe that less is better..and belived fully upon reading many viewpoints that I was somewhere in the middle..and I had believed to be on the conservative side..

I do find it ironic that the urologist want to presecribe test therapy to get me up to more manageable levels.....

as for blood work...its correct i hadnt had any specifc blood work done on my liver..so theres a possibility that it has been occuring for wquite some time..however aafter ultra sounds etc..it shows to be a very healthy liver..although mris show a enlarged prostrate for a 39 yr old man..wheres that coming from?..I leave that to the experts ..but all these "things" happening at once and after doing this cycle a little over a year and 4 months ago lead me to belive the cyle being the culprit..

Yes I did pheendos pct.. as posted on this board..

I hope this helps continue the diuscussion..

truth is despite all this I still wanna drive to MX and get another one going..but is it worth it?..how low is low..what is the right mix for guys our age?..is it speeeding up our mortality ?..

    just not too sure

Thanks for sharing your experience. It is well received.

I think your experience argues for 2 things:

    1) Moderation in both duration and dose
    2) Blood tests at the beginning and end of each cycle.

Enlarged prostate is pretty common, not that early but I know plenty of people in their early 40's that have never touched roids and have that issue.

You never know what difficulties lie ahead, and playing this steroid game just brings them on sooner. I try to stick to one cycle per year with blood work at the start and end, but I may be instigating tumors, or heart problems to come on sooner. Ya never know.

Then I have seen people in their early 50's who never used drugs in their life have pancreatic cancer diagnosed and die in less than a year. I have a friend that died from a combination of heart disease and sleep apnia (sp?) at 31, and another that had a mild stroke at 32 (neither used drugs or smoked) .

I still think 6cc's per week is a little heavy for basically your first cycle. I know my 2 friends in this age group did 1cc per week and added Winny pills into week 4. So week 4 was 1cc per week of Sust and 1 winny pill per day 50mg. They did PCT and although had slightly higher liver counts at the end, the results were very good and they both had little to no sides.

What are the Doctors telling you? are they treating you?

well as it goes..the drs are in more tests mode..we shall see..hrt is being considered for the low test production...mri shows the liver is in good shape physically..not sure where they are now..numbers are off...drs are saying..more tests essentially..cialis....and thats about all for now..

Does this seem like a decent first cycle to gain some size and burn some fat. Thanks Guys

No offense taken, I have a brother who has been on and off steroids with little sides so I lived with it for many years. I also if you search my post's have two of my best Friends on cycles as we speak. Sorry for your mis-fortune hope things work out. I guess the reason I even jumped on was simple, I have gear and I am just waiting to loose some BF before I start. I have done my own research and have seen first hand from family members the pros and cons. Good Luck

I think we're all different physically. Some people can take more than others, some have a predisposition to losing their hair faster, etc. I think the older we get, the more pronounced those differences are. Dynamike, as far as if its worth it, thats for you to decide. If you're putting your long term physical health in serious jeopardy, then I would say no. But if you can your sides were manageable and you can adjust future cycles, then it might be worth it. I'm sure you already know all this, but it hasn't been said in other replies here. I'm 42 and just did my second cycle. I'll have blood work done in a couple weeks. If my doctor says its totally f***d up, then I probably won't do another one. Anyways, good luck and I'm sure you'll make the right decision...you're already asking the right questions.

Up until my steriod usage at the age of 28 ( and I'm 34 now with 4-5 cycles under my belt) I was lucky to have have been blessed with great genes and great health.. Libido was 3 times a day minimum for me, great skin and hair. Now 6 yrs later guess what? ENLARGED PROSTATE, NO LIBIDO,LOOSE SKIN and BALDING... Hard as hell to get motivated to work out when it seems to do not much. I could care less what you do to yourself but, since you have NO EXPERIENCE, why comment on something you really no nothing about??
I'm not crucifying AS, I'm just sick of ppl that have no experience always putting their 2 cents in

The risks are good to know before you start, anyone doing AAS without knowing these things does not care much about their future or health. Glad you guys could comment on your experiences, but there are also many out there that have done AAS for years with no ill sides. Each individual will respond differently.

That is a pretty stupid post, so what you are saying is the Lead Doctors in the country on AAS are also morons as they have never stuck themselves Bro I lived with roids in my house for years, like I already posted my brother took more shit than he could get his hands on and all his friends juiced for many years. Everyone is different, some people when not abused get nice results and others there hair falls out, the balls disappear and they have no sex drive etc, etc. It is Russian roulette. I still believe in low moderate doses in most cases, it is a great booster for men over 30, most men over 30 have low test levels to begin with and doing a cycle here and there to replace what your body naturally has slowed down reproducing is not such a bad thing. Again big difference between abuse and moderate doses.

No offense Boost but seeing another individual on roids and actually experiencing them yourself and feeling the different effects/sides is much different. That's like saying I've been going to ML Baseball games all my life and have two friends who play and speaking as if you've been on the field before.
    Not quite the same bro.

I gave my opinion that is all, if people feel I cannot give a opinion because I have never been under the needle yet. That is fine, but again there are many leading Doctors who specialize in Steroid use and have never used either. So take that what it is worth, trust me I do not like reading about bad sides as I am getting ready for my own cycle

I respect your opinion, maybe it's just how you came off about the subject at hand. He wasn't asking for opinions on how unprepared he was, or how bad his cycle was, but mearly giving us a heads up on his particular story. Take what is needed from it and learn. But yes I agree I think it wasn't well thought out or planned as well, most sides could've probably been prevented.

Boost, for the record. I researched for well over a year and always had my PCT ready before the cycle ever started.. MPB Im prone to and AS just sped things up Lol. The sex drive, prostate and muscle fatigue I will and do attribute to my 6 yrs of cycling. And i correct my original statement, I've done a total of 6 cycles, ranging from 8 wks to 16 wks.. I would advise the shorter cycles and thats just my 2 cents.. Good luck, wish you the best. Sharky
