    HMG Info

    this is just a heap of info ive found out into one thread, it might double up, repeat itself.

    Source: Urine Urine of post-menopausal women

    Description: hMG is produced from a sterile preparation of placental glucoprotein urine of post-menopausal women. The hMG is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Biological Activity: hMG conforms the following activities: 100 IU/mg of FSH and 100IU/mg LH.

    Storage: Lyophilized hMG although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 C. Upon reconstitution hMG should be stored at 4 C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

    Common side effects

    * Injection site pain
    * Lower abdomen tenderness
    * Fluid retention
    * Headache
    * Emotional irritability
    * Breast discomfort
    * Fatigue
    * Multiple births

    Brand Names

    Humegon ® (mfg. Organon), Pergonal ® (mfg. Serono), Repronex ® (mfg. Ferring) at current no UGL's produce this.

    Who might benefit?

    These drugs are most often given to women with polycystic ovary syndrome who have either not responded at all to clomifene or have not become pregnant, even though they have ovulated in response to clomifene. Other possibilities include women with unexplained infertility and those about to embark on assisted conception treatment.

    Gonadotrophins can also help men who have a hormonal imbalance (that originates in the pituitary gland or hypothalamus) linked to a low sperm count, or poor sperm quality or motility (its ability to move). (Find out more about fertility drugs for men.)

    How It Works

    In women. Luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) are necessary for egg production (ovulation). Early in the menstrual cycle, a woman with low hormone levels who is not ovulating can have daily human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG) or recombinant human FSH (rFSH) injections for an average of 12 days. If this helps develop mature follicles, the ovary is ready to ovulate. One dose of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG ) is then used to stimulate ovulation.

    In men with low testosterone and FSH. LH stimulates the production of testosterone , and FSH promotes the formation of sperm. If a semen analysis, LH testing, and FSH testing suggest that abnormal hormone levels are preventing sperm production, these gonadotropins may be prescribed together to promote sperm formation. The man gets an hCG injection 3 times weekly until blood testosterone level is within the normal range (this may take 4 to 6 months). Treatment continues with injections of hCG 2 times a week and hMG or FSH 3 times a week until the sperm count rises to normal levels.

    HMG can be most effective when ran alongside other lh - leutenizing hormone - stimulating drugs such as hcg, Clomiphene, and Tamoxifen during a post cycle treatment plan. A typical dose of 75-150iu a day for 2 weeks is sufficient for restoring normal testicular function and sperm count in males. Although some may find that a longer protocol is needed due to extended periods of staying shut down or the use of hormones which are harsher on the body's natural testosterone function such as such as trenbolone etc. One may also wish to run an anti-estrogen such as Aromasin during administration of this drug due to the possibility of elevated estrogen levels.

    so since HMG mimics FSH, does that mean that once you stop taking it your natural FSH levels will be reduced?
