Why wait so long for PCT?

Newbie question. Why is it necessary to wait for all bioavailable Test Cyp (18 days) to leave your system before starting PCT? After 18 days wouldn't someones Test level be very low? Couldn't you start once your test level is somewhere in the physiologically normal range?

PCT drugs are ineffective when you're fully suppressed. Active suppression overpowers SERMs.

Even with your body's t levels within normal range from exogenous testosterone administration your endogenous test production will not start until your body's levels drop to below normal. This is why running hcg during your cycle to maintain testicular function has become a staple to most cycles

I don't run without hcg anymore. PCT is much smoother. Night and day.

What has already been stated is true. Your body is still suppressed by the exogenous testosterone . I use test cypionate on my cycles, and after my last pin, I wait three full weeks (21 days) before I start my PCT protocol. During those 3 weeks, yes your total testosterone levels will get low, but that is temporary, and the clomid/nolva will hopefully have your body producing natural testosterone at normal levels soon.

I continue taking my AI in that three week waiting period so I don't get any estrogen side effects, which can be pretty bad. I also continue to eat the same diet/macros I was eating while on cycle, and I continue to hit the gym hard. Remember at this point the goal isn't necessarily to gain muscle, but preserve the muscle you gained while on cycle.

All very good points... Pct is a very important time to keep the calories up to preserve the muscle tissue you gained during your cycle
