wondering if i need to go more intense?

6'4 235 20% Still working on the diet should have that ready in a week to add to my workout routine.

its about 2 weeks of doing this so far. im feeling some improvements already. i am in the gym for about 2-3 hours do like 30 mins of abs everyday and run 30 mins at the end.
    mon - chest
    tues - back
    wen - legs
    thurs - shoulders
    friday -arms

should i be really sore the next day after my workout? im not sore to the point where i cant move but if i lift something i do feel that muscle group tense up or what ever a little bit.

also im thinking about taking a piece of paper in and writing down everything i do and posting it for more critique would that be a helpful to figure out what im doing right and wrong? and what i can add or remove from my workout?

Being saw doesnt really indicate anything lol, however if you spending upto three hours a day in the gym then your over training.

I have the exact routine as you, it takes me 40mins weights then 30mins cardio..

But yes post your full routine in detail...

dont see the need in abs everyday. imo once to twice a week is plenty.

split is good, 12 -16 sets max(not counting any warmup sets). i stick with 12 cause it works for me. arms 10 sets max

with training and cardio on same days try and shoot for max 1:30 minutes in the gym. if longer, need to look at whats taking you so long.

also try and throw a rest day in the middle off that split. youll be able to train harder overall imo. do cardio on your rest day(s).

30 minuts of abs everdy? ADAM is right, once a week is more than enough and like 5-6 sets at that.

I think you might have exaggerated a little when you said MORE than enough. I think it is enough, and abs must be treated like every other muscle, but if yours are lacking, you can work them twice a week because they recover so fast.

they recover as fast as any other muscle.. if you work the core region liek you should 1-2 times weekly is more than enough. the problem is people perform situps and body weight exercises for abs, which does not maximize size nor strength of the abs. the same example would be performing pushups for chest, you wont get the results you want.
