    considering first cycle ever...test prop

    howdy guys,
so heres the deal. ive been training/dieting properly for a couple of years now. been making steady...but slow gains (as expected). very seriously considering a basic/short cycle to give me a little boost on my physique goals. please no preaching about hard work and patience, i have been working my ass off for years and not looking for a quick fix, its just at my height (6'3) its going to take a veryyy long time to fill out completely naturally.

anyways ive been thinking about a 6-8 week cycle of test prop with the appropriate support/PCT.

i know theres an inherent risk associated with cycling, and considering my age (21), is there any real risk associated with a short and very basic cycle? considering i would be doing everything by the books. just looking for the opinions of more experienced guys!

currently 190 and veryy lean. im sure your going to say just keep bulking, but at the rate i have been gaining its going to take years to see a noticeable difference in my whole body, 20lbs of muscle spread out over a 6'3 frame doesnt look like that much . i dont consider this an "easy way out", i just want to do a short little cycle while i have my summer off so theres nothing to focus on except bodybuilding and work.

i love how u guys want advice on ur own terms cause u no you will hear something that u dont want to accept.

truth is u are to young, and skinny. please dont give me the shit about ur height preventing u from gaining weight.
go to the diet section, them guys are the best, give their advice and diet a try for 30-60 days. you will be amazed at how much things change when u eat to grow....
and i know ur going to say u are doing that, well they will show u that u are not..

trust me man, steroids are not the answer for you yet, learn how to grow the correct way, then add the steroids a couple years down the road....

i appreciate the advice. but diet is not going to speed up muscle gain. i have no interest in gaining 20lbs of weight when only 6 lbs of that is actual muscle. for a natural trainee with moderate exeperience i think the upper limit is something like 2lbs a month if your doing everything perfect. without sounding like the typical meathead/douchebag, i know some guys and have seen quite a few forum members who have done cycles (most were more intense cycles) and came out of them perfectly fine with amazing gains. sorry if i sound kind of confrontational

if your eating sufficient calories over maitenance, generally 500-700+, your going to gain muscle. eating 1500 calories over and gaining weight faster is not going to equate to more muscle gain. i hope you guys understand that eating more than necessary is not going to magically speed up muscle gains. unless you intend on getting fat, eating an excess WITHIN REASON is the best way to ensure muscle gain.

hence the reason to cylce in the first place. your body can only synthesize so much muscle in so much time, overkill on food or training is not going to speed up a natural process

Have you approached your genetic limit or are you looking for a shortcut?

A first cycle of test prop is a big mistake. You have to pin at lease EOD and prop is one of the most painful things to inject.

"i know some people advocate an all out anabolic blitzkreig for your first cycle"

No one here would advise such a thing. Continue to research.

well i dont want to run a long cycle with test e because from what i understand the longer the cycle, the more potential for sides, shutdown, etc.

ive read through alot of stickies on here and other forums and many people think a test prop cycle for 6-8 weeks is fine? and doesnt the test prop injection pain center around the "concentration"/strength of the test...i.e. if you cut with some oil to reduce the concentration per ml wont that alleviate most injection pain?

Search and you'll find countless threads on prop pain. You haven't done your research. You're too young, don't have enough diet and training experience (you wouldn't be 6'3", 190 lbs if you did) for AAS. This is not a quick fix. Continue and you'll be in pain, have less money, will have broken the law, and won't get the results you were hoping for.

I do know what you mean about the tall guy thing. I'm 5'9" about 190 and my friend is 6'3" and 220lbs. He has some more fat on him that I do, but he always looks "smaller" than I do because he has to fill out so much more. But with eating right, drinking protein shakes, and taking supplements like N.O. and creatine, you can get there. I know it seems like time takes forever now, but believe me, it will start going faster real quick. I know it's not exactly relevant considering his steroid use, but if you're looking for a good current model, check out Toney "X-Man" Freeman. He is a tall, huge dude that has an awesome personality (from the once or twice I've talked to him in booths at shows).

note: I do not KNOW of Toney Freeman's steroid use. I am just making a fairly obvious assumption.

Test has plenty of possible sides. Agression and manic activity in the head are almost guaranteed.
