Lol. I have a push sled which I use when I find time which is not much nowadays. Don't know if that's classified as cardio but it sure does work great

In ten minutes, you can burn around 200 calories if you're running on a treadmill. More important than the burning calories part of it. It's good for your heart and well being. 10 minutes of cardio does wonders more than none at all.

I do 20-30 min of walking fast or on a spinningbike to wake up at least 5 days a week. I also walk/jog on the mill as warmup for 10-15min every workout. On weekends if i have time i can go for an hour or two powerwalk. When you add everything up for a month or year its actually a decent amount of kcal that gets burned.

I do 10 min fast paced treadmill on random incline to warm up followed by crunches and stretching. At the end of my workout I do 15 min of fast paced bike, keeping the rpm above 110 on random with a bpm of 150-180. I go in once a week and do an hour 30min treadmill and 30min bike with 30 min abs in between. I like the post workout bike to clean out the toxins and pump fresh blood into the muscles, I seem to feel less sore the next day, I notice the difference if I don't do it.

and how long do you sustain THAT?

I don't know I could do that for any length of time. On the tread mill, I put it on elevation and get the thing spinning pretty good, and even then I haven't seen my PR over 120. Maybe when I ran competitively, but I suspect even then it didn't. I suspect back then my heart rate was naturally low, and as thin as I was, it stayed relatively low even while running.

    TR,

30 minutes. I should point out that when I joined the army I was brought in for an extra check-up due to extremely low/high pulse. My resting pulse goes down to low 30's and my high easily hit 195-200 during full HIIT. Must have had every test in the world on this stuff but nothing found that points to a problem.

    Thanks

15-30 min cardio for me pre workout. It ensures a good weights workout after. Gets heart rate where it needs to be and sweat going. I also do abs often after cardio for 10 min straight no stopping. Then weights for hour after. Total workout usually 1.5 hr.

this just shows you how different everyone is. I was on the treadmill last night, 15% elevation, pushing at a fast clip. Heart rate barely went over 120. Even after almost 40 minutes where I increased the elevation and speed even more, about 125 is all it went.

My resting PR is 60 a the docs, although my son, and EMT, had me in the mid 50's here at the house. it really takes a lot to get my heart rate going. Doesn't mean I'm not breathing hard. I'm huffing at 125 BPM.

Yes. Extremely sweaty. But, I am soaking wet doing arms. HR got up to 198/200 at the 30min mark yesterday.

My heart rate doesn't get up much on the treadmill, I walk random incline on level 12 at 4mph, but the bike gets me going, especially if I stay at or above 120rpm on level 10 on random.

I started doing planks for my back pain and it has been a miracle. I just do 2 min on my elbows and I loosen right up and the nerve pinching pain is gone completely. I told a friend about it and after he tried it he was in shock, couldn't believe how it took the pain away.

Like 600 said, I have good intentions but never start. Although the course I'm doing at the moment forces me to do one high intensity cardio session a week, and I usually ride to and from the gym but that's a 5 minute ride at fairly low intensity so I don't count it.

Do supersets count as cardio? lol..

Normally on a cut I will keep my rest breaks short during strength training. My workouts are around 90mins long and I never get below 140 when I am doing this. On a bulk, quite the opposite, my HR probably stays between 100-130 then.

I normally only do cardio on a cut and that is usually 30-45mins EOD.

Planks are where you'd lie down like you're doing a push up, but on your elbows. It's a core building exercise. Use your core to keep your back straight. The further away hoy place your elbows, the more you'll work your core

oh, ok. my back pain has nothing to do with muscular strength.

when I exercise my lower back, the pain will abate.

My pain isn't from strength issues, it is from permanent nerve damage from an injury in 98, had surgery in 01. I have pinching pains in my lower back when I do certain things like stretching etc..., I started doing a 2 min plank in my stretching routine and it alleviated the nerve discomfort, don't know how or why, it just did. My core and low back are strong as can be, but these really helped me and others I have told with similar type discomfort. Worth a shot, unless it is something that will make your particular issue worse.

better for you might be a walk/jog. Keeps the cardio up high, and minimizes the trauma of impact. And do it at the park where you can walk/jog on the grass

Walking is not enough keep my heart rate up.

Jogging at around 11 min per mile my hr sits at 130.

Just doing my normal circuit of about 4 miles is not too hard for my joints, at least yet lol.

2 years ago i was averaging over 25 miles per week, mostly done below 8 min/mile, so my lower limbs are used to it.

Chiming in a little late on this one.

I do 20min after lifting(except on leg day) and 20-30 mins late at night.

and I'll often do 40-60 mins of this on rest days as well.

I keep my heart rate between 145-155.

Stairmill is my go to, once in awhile i'll use the bike

I get my heart rate up to as high as possible during interval training. I feel it pounding in my chest cavity. My body fatigues before I will bust an artery. I never invested in a hate rate monitor. Just something for me to lose....

My cardio is walking from the car to the gym. OK when I'm at work I have to walk to another building and it's almost 5 minutes. Oh I have to walk up stairs to our gym and back down again.

OK seriously, no, very little although I keep telling myself I need to.

I was doing cardio on the stationary, until I wore a hole in my ass.

At what speed are you doing cardio at that your HR ONLY GETS TO 120-130? Shit, the wifes trainer just bumped her up to 45mins a day 7 days a week. We went this morning and did 45 mins on stairmill, @the 5 minute mark I was already up to 156, I then bumped up the level and before the 10 min mark I was at 180 and got up over 190 for quite a while.

Oh and the wife is doing her first bikini show in November, and I will tell you what, DIET is definitley the biggest factor in getting in shape. Her body has changed so much in 2 weeks of her diet.

either you are "out of shape" or the intensity was not for an aerobical exercise

(ruling out heart conditions of course)
