At what speed are you doing cardio at that your HR ONLY GETS TO 120-130? Shit, the wifes trainer just bumped her up to 45mins a day 7 days a week. We went this morning and did 45 mins on stairmill, @the 5 minute mark I was already up to 156, I then bumped up the level and before the 10 min mark I was at 180 and got up over 190 for quite a while.

either you are "out of shape" or the intensity was not for an aerobical exercise

(ruling out heart conditions of course)

I walk my dog for cardio lately...corns on my feet make it almost impossible to run right now, but I still like mountain biking in the nice weather.

level 15 and speed something like a 3, if that makes any sense?

but you need to target YOUR age specific range.

for me, my age specific range is probably lower than yours

    max heart rate = 220-52=168

    50% = 84
    80% = 136

so 120 for me is in the sweet spot. my days of marathon running have been over since around the time you were born.

and by the way, my resting pulse rate was 62 yesterday before I gave blood. with a 135/82 BP

not bad for a sliver back.................?
