Is this workout ok or is it to much for the chest because of the close grip bench press?
BB bench press 4 sets
BB incline bench press 3 sets
dips 3
Skull crushers 3 sets
close grip bench press 3 sets

i personaly dont do tris on chest day but i would add to the tris maybe some kickbacks or some cables some say i over do it but i usually do about 16 sets of various movements sometimes more i tend to do 4 diff exercises but everyone is diff i would add to your tris though i have better results with bis and tris do chest with calves since i work mine twice a week usually
i would switch the close grip and i'd alternate bb bench one week along with db inclin then switch the following....i like over head extensions for tri'sOriginally Posted by asvt
I know what you mean about the triceps but what exactly do you mean about the chest?Originally Posted by Haro3
not sure who you were talking to but assuming haros a closde grip is focusing on tris try some dumbell lifts instead of all barbell see how that works for you and switch them up. instead of the close grip do some decline bench and some flys and just work your chest once a week try flat incline decline flys pullovers or something i do 4 diff ex on my chest take advantage of the equipment switch it up
Looks fine.
I hear that instead of hookin' up the rope pulldown to cables, hooking the rope to midgets will cause even more tricep growth. How 'bout tossin' midgets?
chest looks fine.
2x skullkrushers. set of 8 set of 12
2x close grip. set of 8 set of 12
2x seated extensions. set of 8 set of 12
2x pushdown. set of 8 set of 12
If your triceps are a lagging b/p don’t hit them on chest day do them 2-3 days after chest, to minimize overlapping this routine is good for mass.
as far as doing cgb on chest day, you can do it the key is your form, by not going all the way down and not but comming close to locking out at the top will place most of the emphasis on tris
I dont do it, I do cgb on a day dedicated to arms only.....
I actually like doing tris with shoulders and bis w/ chest but that s just me.
I never do Chest and Tris together. I feel like it is too easy to Over train your tri's that way.
I usually do Bi's/tri's together.
Chest Stands alone. It is the only body part that I dedicate an entire workout to. There are so many different parts of the chest that you can hit without over training it. (Lower/upper/Middle/outs)
Flat BB Bench
Incline DB Press
Dips
Cable Flys (upper/mid/lower)
Seated Chest press (I love these at the end of my workout)
High Rep/low weight Butterflies
You can mix up a chest routine; in a way that you can do more sets, without overtraining. I can anyway.
