Thread: cardio?

    cardio?

    hope this the right spot for this but I need to know how to loose about 30lbs! I'm in the military and no matter how far I run or how ever many push ups or sit ups I do I get no where. I read about getting a heart rate monitor and slowing down but that will just kill my legs. I'm trying to really focus back fat, love handles, and chest. I have cleaned my diet up but still am getting no where. Does anyone have any cardio and exercises I should focus on?

    I feel your pain bro. But I think you touched on it....diet. How many meals a day are you eating? Run can be an absolute bore so give circuit training a try. I was in a similar position and I quit running and took up boxing and jits. Both great ways to get in shape that break up the monotony of typical cardio. Good luck!

    You need heavy-intense resistance training plus a carb cycling diet to expel the fat fast.

    well i guess my problem is i really do not know what heavy resistance training is. I know what a lifting weights is. I am really not knowledgeable about all this. I would love to know more if you dont mind.

    Keep lifting weights, sit ups/push ups if thats what your use to, but increase the amount of cardio you do, thats all.

    I do a combination of high intensity (running on the tredmill), & low intensity cardio (moderate pace on the stairmaster) around 3-4 times a week for 30-60 min usually. I find if you mix your cardio exercises up, its alot easier than just doing the same one every time.

    I have around 25-30 lbs to lose myself to be around my goal also.
    So try my routine, along with eating healthy as possible, & not eating before bed, and that extra flub should go away in no time...just make sure your consistent with all this.

    Yeah i will do. Its just that I like to run but I have heard and read that running too much will target more muscle loss than fat.

    Concentrate on weightlifting for now. If you want to run, do some HIIT type training 2-3 times a week along with slow steady pace cardio the other days. The more lean muscle mass you have the more calories/fat you will burn.
